2/1/20-Week 3 with Mia here and she has been a great dog! It has amazed me how well she has adjusted to a life outside the puppy mill. She is still doing great with potty time. We only have to take her out 3 times a day! She has gotten the routine down to a science. I am increasing her food intake since she still looks thin.
Mia is a happy girl who loves to chase a ball or ruff house with her foster brother but also loves a good cuddle session under a blanket. She is also becoming good friends with the cats!
The best part about Mia is her happy dance she has developed when she greets you and the way she pushes her head into your chest for lovin'!
Mia has learned the command sit! She also respects the no command very well. This diamond has been hidden in a puppy mill for most of her life and deserves the best new life!
1/25/20-Mia is doing so good! It has been one week since I picked her up from transport. In that week she has learned that couches are comfy places where you get to cuddle humans, stairs are not so scary and you get to go outside and play, and snowballs are great to catch and eat! She does not pull on leash anymore and is great at going potty outside. Mia enjoys sleeping in her kennel but would also love to snuggle you in bed. I just love Mia for her cute head tilts and love of life! She is really a great dog! I cannot believe she has been a breeding machine and not someone's best friend. You would never guess she is 7 years old. This girl loves to be doing SOMETHING and has the energy of a youngster. My male Husky and her enjoy playing together. She did get leash reactive to a feisty small female dog. She seems to enjoy other dogs quite a bit. She will chase the kitties but thats all. She also allows them on the couch with her. Dog savy cats are recommended with Mia.
Mia is very food driven and gets very excited for treats. She came in a bit thin but is putting on some weight. We will be working on some commands this week! Mia would love for you to be her new best friend!

1/18/2020 Look at that face!!!! I picked this fiery little lady up from transport on 1/17/20. Mia is a 7 year old retired puppy mill girl. She was understandably nervous when I picked her up, but she is not scared of much. As soon as she jumped out of the transport vehicle, she walked right up to greet all the people. She HAD to drag me over to a lump of ice in the parking lot to sniff it out, then looked at me like "oh, its ok". Anything that looks new, which is a lot of things to her, is investigated. She is very interested in the TV and will snuggle up and do the cutest head tilt during the interesting parts!

Mia seems to be an alpha personality. She does well with my goofy Husky but definitely puts him in his place when he gets too rambunctious. She has growled at our kitties but has also let them sit next to her on the couch. She has been eating and going potty outside well.

One day in and she's already explored the whole house, met the cats and dog and mastered the stairs!

Stay tuned for more on this sweet girl as she adjusts even more to her new life out of the mill!
