6/10/19  -  Sawyer has been with us for a little over a week now.  He was very anxious at first, but who wouldn't be after being with the same person all his life. He has settled in very nicely.  He is fully housebroken and has had no accidents since coming.  He knows commands "sit" and "shake" and will do it as soon as he sees you get a treat without even being asked.  He wants to be with us at all times and loves to lay in your lap which is fine, except for the fact that he is not the size of your normal lap dog.

He loves his walks and is doing much better on the leash.  He is very strong and does like to pull if there is something he really wants to see.

He is very playful and has a ton of energy.   He just doesn't realize how big he is,  which is the only reason that he may need to be in a home with older children as he may accidentally knock the younger kids over.  He is very good at the usual boxer "Zoomies" and his stub never stops.

He has been fine around other dogs as long as the introduction is slow and supervised.  I don't think that he was around other animals much, so he comes off like a bull in a china shop.  He is super sweet and very playful.

6/3/19-Here is some background info on Sawyer.  He is an owner surrender as his owner has Alzheimer’s and had to go into a home and couldn’t take him. She got him 6 years ago as a companion when her husband passed away. The first 3 years he lived with another boxer and was great.  He also has been around and great with grandkids 4 and up but no history around younger kids or cats.  He is said to be very sweet and a great boy.

6/2/19-I picked up Sawyer yesterday.  He was very anxious and just keeps trying to get back in the car.  He slept well last night and seems a little more relaxed today.  He wants constant attention and has a ton of energy.    We walked this morning and he did very well until he sees a squirrel or a rabbit and then he goes full speed at them. You have to be ready for it or he will pull you down. He is very strong and is absolutely beautiful.  He will definitely Need a very active family and room to run. You also have to love dog kisses cause he has the longest tongue I have ever seen on a dog.

He has had some training because he knows sit and shake.
