11/04/23-Spay yesterday! Clean bill of health. Was carried around most of day after surgery by vet tech. They loved her over there! She’s not happy about being in a round pen but we need to keep her quiet for a few days and then she’s ready to go! When I brought her home from vet, we came up on the front porch and my outdoor cat was there and Ripple had no reaction to her so looks like she msy be ok with dog savvy cats. I will try again when she feels better.

11/03/23-Big spay day! Ripple new picture of her in her car checking out the scenery on the way. I just got a kitten foster two days ago and she seems fine with her, I do have an outdoor cat that I’ll try to test her with. She deserves a home! She’s really a good girl.

11/01/23-Ripple is doing very well & will be spayed Friday & finally ready to go home!  She is a very sweet girl & no way aggressive or snappy. I sit with her and she loves to be cuddled and kissed. She is just very nervous/anxious, could be my house though because my dogs can be loud and full of it, however she loves my 2 year old pit/bassett mix.  They run together and play, she gives him kisses. She’s just really shy and unsure of herself still. Her adopter will need to have some patience for her to adjust to changes.  She definitely needs to be leashed and if they have a fenced in yard I would walk her in it on leash until she learns to come in. She was doing well about coming in on her own and now has reverted back to running from us as she loves being outside.  So she’s back on a leash which is really a very small slip lead I have that I attached to her collar. She’s a smart girl and would do well with another dog for company. She loves to play and can run like the wind. She does know her name and her nickname. Ripple loves soft blankets and toys, especially Nylabones and tennis balls.

10/23/23-Ripple is working on safety, recall and bonding. She’s getting there!

10/21/23-Ripple is doing well & her spay is coming Friday 11/3 so she is ready to go home soon! She will need a quiet home probably with an older calm dog. She is still very skittish, but if I sit quietly she will come to me. Approaching her doesn’t work for her yet. House training has gone well, I still keep a pee pad down just in case. I also have a dog pen and because a couple of my dogs don’t use the dog door, the back door is open all day. (Until the temps drop of course).  Ripple likes the idea of being able to go out whenever she wants but does not like to come in! Definitely more beagle in her than pug! LOL She loves to run and chase a ball.
She’s doing better on a leash, doesn’t care for a harness but tolerates it. Ripple really is a good girl but trust comes slowly with her. She needs a loving patient home to help her get over her past life of just growing up in a cage.

10/9/23-Ripple is doing great! She is still very shy of humans but can be approached and cuddled. Once she’s near you she loves to be touched.  We are working on walking on the leash.  She tends to walk behind, I use a harness and it helps. She loves other dogs, but prefer quieter ones as less intimidating. Loves to be outside & play & explore. She is pee pad trained and is good to go out in the dog pen. She is crate trained but prefers a blanket in the chair like a princess! Lol Ripple eats well and does not gorge herself.  She is actually a slow eater and grazes. More updates soon.

10/7/23-Someone finally ventured to the dog pen and decided it’s not so bad out there! Ripple does ok on a leash but thought being in the dog pen was much more fun!!! That girl can run and loves chasing my 2yr old pit/Bassett mix. Ripple’s vet appointment on Wednesday went well except she tested positive for Lyme. She will be treated with antibiotics for that. More updates soon on the little cutie!

10/1/23-Ripple is a cute as a button 8 month old female puggle (pug/beagle) rescued from an overcrowded breeder along with Sammy & Leo. She has arrived thanks to her transport volunteers. We have had many others in past from this breeder & they have all been very sweet & great dogs. She has her vet checkup & shots on Wednesday 10/4 & her spay is not until Friday 11/3 due to vet backups.
She will be ready to go home after her spay. More updates soon on this cutie from her foster home
