6/26/24-Hannah is patiently waiting for her furever Mom and/or Dad.  Meanwhile, she is having fun running around the yard with her housemates.  Hannah does well with doing her business outside as long as you watch for her starting to lick her bottom or take her outside at regular intervals.  Hannah is starting to look to be petted.  Her fur is soft like silk.  Hannah makes the cutest  a-rooooo to let you know that it is time to go inside for her breakfast or when she wants your attention.  Hannah is now eagerly wagging her tail to greet you.  Hannah is still very shy around strangers and children.  Loud noises scare her.  Hannah will climb stairs and will go down a few stairs on her own. Don’t overlook this cutie, Hannah will be your shadow.
 
 
6/10/24-Hannah saw the vet today for a follow up & they expressed her impacted anal gland. They also put her on 5 more days of meds. Vet said she is good to go for adoption. It was just an infection and no tumor. Hannah is a sweetie, very friendly and walks right up to people now.  Rides great in the car. Loves wearing her little surgery suit so would be adorable for those who like to dress up their little dogs! Lol She is ready for her new home!
 
6/8/24-Hannah Montana is recovering after her spay.  She spends most of her time resting. Hannah finished her antibiotics this morning and will have a follow up visit for her blocked anal gland on Monday.  If all goes well then she will be ready to go home.  She is so sweet and has a wonderful personality.
   
6/6/24-Hannah Montana was spayed on Wednesday.  She was very scared and nervous but had excellent care from the staff at the animal hospital.  She ate after her spay and spent the rest of the evening recovering.  She was very upset with the cone but  is okay with her surgery suit.  She is supposed to take it easy for the next 14 days.  So far Hannah has not been up to any running. That will most likely change as she heals.  Hannah had a lot of fun running around the yard on Tuesday before her spay.  I have the stairs blocked to keep her from climbing the stairs for now.  Hannah stayed in her kennel without a fuss but when she is back to feeling like herself, she will want to sleep where I am.  She is still afraid of loud noises and would do best in a quieter home.  Hannah is fine around new people and my 3 and 4 year old granddaughters.  Hannah gets along great with my two cats and my three dogs.  She is still working on going outside to do her business.  Hannah is very low to the ground & eats off of a salad plate.  The clank of her tag on her collar against  a food bowl scared her. She is able to drink out of a cat sized bowl without the clank sound from her tag.  Hannah will be your shadow and follow you wherever you go. Hannah has a puppy face that will melt your heart. 
 
6/3/24-Took Hannah Montana to the vet today for her foster mom. She has a totally closed off infected annual gland on one side, the vet expressed the other side. She is on antibiotics for a week with a recheck on Monday to make sure it’s just an infection & is clearing up. It’s nothing they can do during her spay.  She is the sweetest girl just melted into my arms . Hannah is being spayed this Wednesday and will be ready to find a forever family soon.
  

5/27/24-Hannah spent most of her day decompressing from the last few days.  It was windy today and she sat with my other dog for comfort. Hannah will need someone with patience as she learns what it is to be a dog in a home surrounded by people that love her. Hannah will be spayed on June 5th & be ready for her furever home after that.

5/26/24-Hannah met quite a few new people and again followed my adult grandson around the yard.  As the noise became louder she wanted to be in the house and mainly stayed hidden around my chair.  She tends to be very afraid around loud conversation, laughter, and strong wind.  She is still very traumatized and needs more time to decompress.

5/25/24-The first night here Hannah met my dogs and cats and everyone got along well.  Hannah was okay with being held and petted but was very tense.  She was very upset with being left alone in her crate and spent her first night in my bedroom.  Yesterday Hannah Montana was very nervous outside. It was garbage day and there were a lot of loud  noises from the traffic and the wind.  She seemed to relax after a bit and laid down in the grass and observed her new surroundings.  Hannah met my neighbor’s husky and my other neighbor’s dog, a golden retriever,  through our fence. Later on in the day she met my adult grandson and she followed him around.  She did not seem to mind my 3 year old great granddaughter.  She explored the backyard and even ran around the yard.  That evening she was so exhausted she slept in the pen which surrounds her crate. Today it rained most of the day so Hannah spent a lot of time in my lap sleeping. She did not mind being with my husband sleeping on his lap while I was busy with some chores. Hannah is learning to climb stairs but needs help with going down the stairs. She is okay on a leash and will walk behind you. She will need work with potty training.

 
5/24/24-Hannah Montana learned that the grass is not as even as the inside floors.  After a few trips she found her outside footing.  She is enjoying observing all the outside sounds and smells & exploring the outside. 
05/23/24-Hannah Montana is an adorable 7 year old female Havanese. She came in from a commercial breeder as they just got done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She is healthy with only severe tartar on her teeth, common with smaller breeder dogs of this age. She may need a dental cleaning later in her new home. She is being spayed on Wednesday June 5th & will be ready to go home after.
