9/8/24-Whoopi may be deaf due to her untreated ear infections but she living life like another dog. She loves being part of a pack. Whoopi can’t wait to meet her furever family!
9/7/24-Whoopi had her first leash walking lesson today. She did good until the camera came out. LOL She let me pet her and sat on the couch with me today for some “Forced Family Fun”! She has two different color eyes. Whoopi is deaf but does hear certain pitches. Right now since she’s still learning about leash walking she would do best with a fenced in yard and will do well with or without another dog.
9/2/24-Hi! I am doing great after being spayed. I may not be able to hear but I am an awesome companion. I would do great with a fenced in yard because I don’t like a leash yet but I am working on it. Someone without a fence really needs to be willing to work further on teaching me how to like walking on one. Right now I go a little crazy about it! We shihtzu’s are meant to be princesses & don’t like being put on a leash & told where to go! LOL. I love chilling in my crate while my humans relax on the couch. They want me to sit with them but my crate is super cozy. My favorite thing during the day is chewing on my bones and playing with my toys.

8/31/24-HELLO EVERYONE WHOOPI HERE. I’m a 5 year old shihpoo (Shihtzu poodle mix) looking for a special home. Due to not getting proper medical care for ear infections I AM DEAF. I’m just getting used to touch. I love to be around my people but I get scared when someone suddenly reaches for me. Don’t worry, I don’t bite or snap though, I just I have fast little legs & can scoot away before you catch me! I am crate trained. I love other dogs & we have a blast playing. I have this adorable under bite and one blue eye one brown eye. I need a home with patience as I come out of my shell more.

8/28/24-This cutie is becoming my little shadow. She has decided today she enjoys chest scratches. Whoopi enjoys relaxing in her crate with the door open. She is crate trained when we are not home. Whoopi sleeps in a pen in our bedroom because she does not like sleeping downstairs without her pack. She enjoys being with people, kids, and other dogs but especially me her person. Whoopi is free fed and enjoys chewing on bones. This girl is learning to trust humans each day and is working on potty training. Whoopi is getting fixed tomorrow and then will be ready to go to her new home!
8/20/24-Hey friends and family, this little love is named Whoopi. She is 4 years old, and recently rescued from a “commercial breeder.” She is DEAF, mostly likely due to neglect, because this poor little love has a lot of scaring in her ears due to ear infections. We are currently working on clearing up a nasty one she was sent with from the “commercial breeder.” Anyway, Whoopi is being crate trained. We are loving her up and getting her used to human touch. She comes up to the girls and me to sniff our hand. She is good with the girls (age 3 & 4) and other dogs. She likes to play and explore a lot.
8/19/24-Whoopi went to the vet today and did very well except for the unfortunate stress pooping incident near the end of the appointment. The vet said her hearing loss was probably from years of untreated ear infections. Her ear canals were inflamed and we will continue to treat them. It is unclear if she will regain some hearing or not once her ears are better. She had her nails trimmed & got another wormer dose. We are all clear for her spay. Whoopi will be available after 8/29.
8/18/24-Let’s chat about WHOOPI. She is crate trained loves to run around the house wagging her tail and hanging out with you. She will even come up to you to scratch her. At this time she does not like to be picked up and snuggled. We are working on it. Whoopi is potty pad trained. Tomorrow she has her pre spay appointment . She loves to explore the house she discovered the patio doors and kept hitting her head trying to get out not realizing what windows are. Poor girl!
8/14/24-Whoopi is also a borrower. She likes to drag things in her pen. She takes the throw rugs and brings them into her pen. We are sure we can get her to give up this life of crime! LoL
8/11/24-We have discovered Whoopi is deaf but does have some hearing of higher pitch sounds. She reacts only when I play her the high pitched noises. One of her eyes has a different coloring, it’s really cool looking! Right now she is still skittish & runs if you try to reach for her (no aggression, just scared). However, she wags her tail at you when you walk into the room so we know she will come around once she adjusts to her new life.
08/09/24-Whoopi is a cute 4 year old female shihpoo(shihtzu/miniature poodle). She came in today from a commercial breeder as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport volunteers. She has her pre-spay appointment on Monday 8/19, spay on Thursday 8/29 & then she will be ready to go home.
