11/6/24-Mini is doing great and is really coming out of her shell. We recently went to an event last week and mini did great. I have never seen her so happy and smiling to see the other dogs. She is such a beautiful girl and I cannot believe that she is still waiting for her forever home. I keep telling her we’re just waiting for that perfect person. I will continue Love and cherish her. she is a special girl and deserves the world. She has really become a lot more active. She still hangs out a lot on her bed but she’s very curious on what’s going on lately. She’s been hanging out in the living room on the rug which is a beautiful sight to see as she’s becoming more and more comfortable .
10/20/24-Mini is doing very well. This little girl has been with me a little over 2 months and has progressed extremely. Mini had lived a pretty rough life as a breeding dog & was having a tough time adjusting to life outside of that. When you would pick her up she would stiffen up like a board. We have made progress with that as she does not do that anymore when I pick her up (unless you make a sudden movement that startles her then she still stiffens up). No aggression at all though. We have made progress too when we go outside. If I call her she does come to me to a certain point and then she stops. She will sniff your hand and give you a lick but then goes to her bed. I do force her to sit with me and learn that humans are good and that I am here to love her. We know with love & time she will blossom even more! We can’t believe this beautiful blonde yorkie is still waiting for her new home.
10/2/24-Mini is trying to adjust after her friend Ruby was recently adopted. She relied on Ruby a lot as far as her confidence is concerned. She is still very skittish and scared. Mini does get very excited in the morning though when she sees you. She does her little bowing thing and stretches her little legs. She is just the sweetest little girl. When she first came in when you would pick her up she would get stiff as a board like a statue. We have made much progress with that now…she still stiffens up a little bit but not as bad as she used to. That’s just not from being handled in her prior life. I have been handling her a lot more now that Ruby is gone getting her to lay with me & holding her while I’m sitting in the living room. I can tell that she’s still very uncomfortable but she has to learn that humans are not bad. I have not yet taken Mini out front on a walk or anything like that as she is still very skittish don’t want to take any chances with her. She is patiently waiting for her forever family that will need to be very patient with her. Minnie is the sweetest tiniest little girl ever who deserves the best life.
9/15/24-Mini is doing great with her recovery from her spay and mammary mass removal. The vet said good news and removal should be curative. Two lumps showed benign (non cancerous) features and the 3rd was just a mammary duct. So basically just monitor for anything new. Mini still is adjusting to home life as she is still very skittish. She’s doing good with me as I do spend most of the time with her. She is eating and drinking very well . She has recently started to explore more outside and roam the yard. She is just the tiniest little sweet thing. I do think taking the crate away has made big progress in Mini’s confidence . She is ready to go to her forever home but her new family will have to be very patient with her as she is still learning the ropes of life.
9/10/24-Poor Mini, yesterday she was spayed & also had a mammary mass caused by nursing so many puppies removed too. She is recovering & has her best friend foster girl Ruby right by her side. She will be ready to go home in a few days!
9/6/24-I have made some small progress with Mini as she has lived a pretty rough life and not had much human interaction. I recently took the crate away so she could not have anywhere to run and hide and it has made great strides in her confidence. Mini has started to roam the yard and check out things that she probably has never seen before and it is just so heartwarming to see her have freedom. She’s still very scared when you try to approach her but she is doing 85% better She is about healed from her severe ear infection and goes on this Monday 9/9 for her spay & will be ready to go home. As mini does not have any teeth, she is on a soft food and eats very well. She still has a way to go before she is confident in humans but she is a very, very sweet girl.
8/29/24-Mini is adjusting. She’s still a little reserved but she’s coming around. Mini recently went to the vet and discovered she had a very bad ear infection. They did clean her ears and put her on medication which made her open up a lot more. I think she’s feeling better. Mini gets so happy when she sees you her little tail just wags, but when you do go to approach her she still does kind of back up. She’s getting better and getting to where she is coming to you and doesn’t run away as much when you try to pick her up. She’s a work in progress and she is getting there. She’s such a sweet girl and is very beautiful. Mini loves to go outside and explore the yard. Mini is still set for her spay on Monday September 9th and she will be ready to go to her new home after that.
8/23/24-Mini is definitely starting to come out of her shell . I don’t think Mini realizes she’s only 9 lb she believes she’s a Great Dane. Lol She started barking now when you enter the house it’s the cutest little bark you’ve ever heard. She is starting to get more comfortable but still very scared. I think with overtime and a little more handling with her, she’ll become the best little lap dog ever. She has started to roam around the house more but when you come near her she will run in go to the crate for safety. I do still have to carry her outside and pick her up to bring her back in, overall mini a wonderful girl.
8/19/24-Mini is trying to adjust to home life as she has lived a rough Life as a commercial breeder dog. She is only 7 years old and the poor thing has only two teeth and currently petrified of humans. We have gotten a little better since she’s been with me for a couple days. Having Ruby my other Foster has really helped her adjust a lot better. She does great going outside using the bathroom. We only had a couple accidents in the house. Due to her not having teeth she does have to have soft canned food which she eats very well. She’s drinking well and gets along great with the resident dog and cat as well.. Mini still does get a little frazzled with a lot of commotion going around and does not like to be handled a lot yet. We will get better with that. More updates to come as I get to learn a little bit more about this precious little girl. She will be ready for her forever home after her spay on September 9th.
8/18/34-Things are going good.Mini and foster Ruby just lay together. They actually slept together last night. I did not close the crate and they both were great. Little one is still learning pottying. She’s very very scared (no aggression), probably not handled a lot for sure. She is just the cutest with her little tongue that hangs out of her mouth because of having no teeth.
08/16/24-Mini is a beautiful rare blonde colored 7 year old female Yorkshire Terrier who arrived tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. She came from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. The initial vet check said she has few teeth & those may need removed too during her spay surgery. Her pre-spay appointment is on Tuesday 8/27 & her spay is Monday 9/9. Once she is spayed she will be ready to go home!
