9/16/24-Who needs a sweet, amazing Newfoundland/poodle in their lives?! The answer is, everyone! Meet our foster, Pickles!
He is 7 months old and a great dog. He walks great on a leash, loves our two dogs and has loved every person he has met (kids and adults!). He sleeps in his crate overnight and is just an amazing boy. He has a great personality and makes us laugh.

9/15/24-Our foster puppy Pickles is SO amazing. Loves everyone, curious, treat motivated, walks well on a leash so far. He sleeps in his crate at night after a quick protest about it. LOL He’s an amazing, playful boy. He loves playing with my dogs after taking a day or two to warm up initially.

9/14/24-Pickles’ pre-neuter appointment on Thursday this week went well! They loved him at the vet & he was such a good boy. He is actually only 63lbs (73lbs from original vet must have been a typo) so guessing he will be closer to 90-95lbs full grown. We are still treating his ear infection but luckily he shows no discomfort/shaking. He has a great personality and is a fun, very smart pup! His neuter is next Wednesday 9/18 & he will be ready to go home after that.

9/11/24-Pickles is such a love! He has adjusted nicely to his foster home and is learning to play like a puppy. He really loves people and follows us around. Pickles has loved everyone he has met and just wants to be pet and go where you go. He gives signs when he needs to go potty and hasnt had accidents. He stays in his crate overnight and after a little crying he sleeps through the night. He loves the outdoors but is also content getting snuggles inside. Pickles met the resident dogs and is even playing with them. Sometimes he ignores them and does his own thing too. He’s a very sweet playful puppy!

(Since I’m a baby I need home with someone home more often. Ex: work at home, retired, at home parent, work opposite, etc)

9/10/24-After being scared (understandably) the first 2 days Pickles has completely blossomed! He adores all people, walks beautifully on a leash, and does quite well in a crate. He is more curious and interested in our dogs now but overall doesn’t pay much attention to them yet. He has had zero accidents in our house or crate and howls when he wants to go out or paces and we know its time. He’s a real special boy. Pickles will have his pre-op appointment on Thursday & goes for his neuter next Wednesday 9/18 & then he will be ready to go home!

9/8/24-After 24 hours pickles is starting to play like a puppy. He loves people and does great with my kids. We did some slow and brief introductions to the resident dogs and he is hesitant right now but ok if they are calm. He is doing great with his crate and will bark a little then sleep through the night. No accidents so far! He seems to love the outdoors and grass.

9/7/24-Pickles arrived to his foster home today. He got a bath and clearly loves people. Lots of tail wags when my kids say hello and wants to know what we are doing. Havent done dog intros yet as he is very nervous. Maybe in a few days. He ate some food this afternoon! He’s nervous around our friendly mastiff and doesn’t seem to want to meet him yet, probably once he settles in.

9/7/24-Pickles and his brother Fritz were very good here at their overnight foster home last night. They were great with our dog Gracie and used the restroom outside. Super friendly and love attention. Fun dogs!

09/06/24-Pickles is a handsome big 7 month old newfypoo (standard poodle/newfoundland). He came in from a commercial breeder along with his brothers Fritz & Yahtzee as they just got too old to sell. They arrived into rescue tonight thanks to their transport & overnight volunteers. We estimate they will be about 100 lbs full grown. Looks like they definitely got a good blend of the Newfoundland size & poodle genes for their coat. They will all be big gentle giants for sure!
