12/09/24-Kadenz got a bath today! The hardest part was getting that beef cake in the tub! LOL

12/7/24-Kadenz is such a good fella. He follows commands better than my brats! LOL He’s down to 88 pounds and is loving his diet. They all get 3/4 cup of holistic lamb and rice kibble along with a couple dollops of plain yogurt and a teaspoon of salmon/pollock oil, twice a day. They also get a scoop of Nupro joint and immunity support in their evening meal. Pretty sure these guys eat better than I do! LOL

12/4/24-My foster boy loves to go for walks, play with his toys & mates. Never misses a meal or turns down a treat. As you can see by his pictures he loves to be a couch potato with either his people or animal buddies. He’s quite the character with his pawsy boxer antics and never in short supply of drool, burps or farts. In short he’s just a quintessential boxer! We can’t believe someone hasn’t scooped him up yet!

11/24/24-This handsome fella is down to 89 pounds now! He’s starting to get a waist line and looking less like a tube steak everyday. He’s longer and taller than my boxer Diesel and his head is massive in comparison as well. Kade is doing very well here. The foot of my bed is typically where he sleeps through the night without issues. He loves walks and does well on a leash. I took him to Petco today to get weighed and he was a perfect gentleman. I’ve left him several times for a couple hours with my two boxers in their basement clubhouse and he hasn’t gotten into anything. I don’t think Kade would be a good fit with younger children. He can get a little cantankerous while playing with him if you grab his feet, so now we just leave his feet outta any fun and games. I’d want to snatch him up myself if I didn’t already have two boxers and a tiny house!

11/18/24-Kadenz has made himself right at home. He is a perfect gentleman with my boxers Roxie and Diesel. Loves to play with toys and will get all of his 92 pounds in your lap! I even left him uncrated with my two for an hour over the weekend while I ran a few errands with no issues. He’s the bestest boy & ready to go home for the holidays!

11/12/24-Kade is negative for heartworm and Lyme so he is all ready to go to his new home. He’s doing great on his diet & is down to 92 pounds already! We estimate he will be closer to 75lbs once he gets in a little better shape.  His original owner said Kade loves belly rubs & used to sleep in bed with her & be on the couch always laying on her or touching her. So if you are looking for a very loving, big snuggle buddy that will be happy to watch Netflix with you, Kade is ready for you!

11/10/24-Some perspective on what a big boy Kadenz (far left) is! Roxie in the middle is 60 pounds and Diesel is 68 pounds. He won’t tolerate the crate so one of us has been sleeping in the basement with all 3 dogs. Last night I brought him to my room and tried to share my bed with him. He’s just too big to share a queen size bed! LOL He didn’t want his dog bed either so he settled on the velvet bench at the foot of my bed.

11/9/24-Kade is a good boy overall and follows commands well. He loves affection but isn’t overbearing about it. He wants nothing to do with the crate though. If I wrestle him into it he will just bark incessantly & will tip over the water bowl which he can’t be without because of the thyroid meds. Also tried only feeding him in the crate the last couple of days but he will starve before he eats in there. Just made a final attempt at it with a bowl of kibble with roast beef and au jus smothering it. He just stood in front of the crate and drooled for an hour. If it’s just plain kibble he’s not even interested. He will need someone home more often because of his frequent drinking and needing to go out more, or access to a doggie door would work too.  I guesstimate he is about 20 pounds overweight. His owner also said he is a very loving boy & loves walks, so a good walking partner would be great.

11/4/24-Kade is now scheduled for his heartworm/lyme test on Tuesday 11/12.  If all goes well at that appointment then he will be ready to go to his new home.

11/3/24-Kadenz (aka: Kade) has arrived! He’s a big handsome fella and he’s getting along really well with my 2 boxers. Thanks for transporting him to us Jeri! What a sweet (big) boy he is. His was well loved but his elderly mother is having medical issues & will no longer be able to care for a very tall, 95 pound fella. I can’t imagine how difficult & heartbreaking this must be for her. He seems to be settling in well all things considered. He has hypothyroidism & is on Thyro-tabs .8mg 2 times a day wrapped in bologna. She said he’s been on this for a couple of years with no change in dose and is doing very well. No other health issues. He is said to be good with kids all ages, dogs & loved to snuggle with their cat. We will get him in asap for his yearly heartworm/lyme combo test & then he will be up to date. Once that is done & we get to know him a little more Kade will be ready for his new home.
