11/11/24-This boy is an absolute sweetheart! We had a rough couple days as he had to learn that the crate is only a temporary space and that I will always be back to let him out.  He now has that figured out, thank goodness! He is beginning to play with toys and loves to be pet and to snuggle. He is such a good boy and loves everyone he meets. Apply now so you don’t miss out on him!

11/10/24-Reggie is doing great with his new crate.  Last night he went right in it, didn’t cry or bark, and laid right down.  He slept through the night without any fussing.  I put him in it when I ran errands this afternoon and he was completely fine in it again. He is discovering toys, enjoys treats, and loves pets and snuggles. He is very gentle with the other dogs and cat and has happily greeted the adults and children he has met.

11/4/24-Reggie decided he didn’t like being in his crate last night.  I let him cry and bark for a while and when I went to get him out he had been so upset he actually bent part of the crate. I then gated him in the kitchen which is something I do with my own dog.  Shortly after he knocked the gate down.  He spent the night with the other dogs in the family room. Luckily, he did not do anything wrong other than  have an accident on the floor- thankfully I do not have carpet in there. Tonight I’m going to try a Kong with peanut butter in the crate. I definitely have an escape artist on my hands! LOL I also have ordered a heavy duty crate that we know he cannot get out of.  This will help to keep him safely contained when needed & learn that crating is not forever & give him time to safely adjust to life outside the farm & in a home.

11/3/24-Reggie is doing well adjusting to his new life of freedom.  He has been sleeping through the night in his crate and has been keeping it clean.  He potties outside and is learning to come up the step into the house all by himself.  This is a big accomplishment since I spent over an hour Saturday morning trying to get him into the house!  LOL He is still apprehensive about some things which is to be expected of course. He likes to grab toys and other objects and take them to his favorite spot by the fireplace. He is a gentle, sweet boy and is enjoying the company of my dogs and cat.

11/01/24-Reggie is an handsome 1 year old Mini aussiedoodle (miniature poodle/Australian shepherd). He came in from a commercial breeder as he just got too old to sell. He arrived into rescue tonight thanks to his transport volunteers. He definitely looks like he got more of the aussie than poodle side of the gene pool with his nubby tail & coat, but his little whiskered face shows the poodle trying to come out! He is being neutered on Wednesday 11/20 & then he will be ready to go to his new home. This cutie won’t be here long!
