2/5/25-Ila’s personality blossoms day by day. She is a happy girl. She is all wiggles now and comes to us for petting and scratches. She loves to eat snow and run around. She goes to the side fences and watches whatever is going on. She comes when called. She has our routine down and is right in line behind the 2 little dogs for treats and dinners. She comes to us now without hesitation. She is a much different dog than the one that arrived for
Christmas. She is a pleasure to have around and seems to know what we are saying to her. I would love to see her settle into a forever home which she has worked so hard for! I had some workers in the house, Ila barked initially
when they came in, but when I reassured her, she went and sat down and watched. She was OK when he wanted to make friends with her. Another great accomplishment for Ila! She is a treasure!

1/27/25-ila takes the relaxed approach to eating her dinner…lying down! Lol She’s doing well. Finally her personality is shining through. She seems happy now & ready for her new home!

1/17/25-Ila is still waiting for her forever home.  She has come a long way in the time she has been with us. Not long after she arrived, we had all 3 dogs together (2 chihuahuas). They coexist nicely. The only time Ila is crated, is when I go out and overnight. She likes to be out in the yard. She does her zoomies in the morning and walks the yard checking everything out. It was a struggle at first to get her to come back in, but over time she now she will come in on her own without me having to go down the stairs and walk her up. Her confidence level has increased daily. A week ago, she started to wag her tail and show some emotion. She is to the point now, where she will almost come to you. If you get up and go to her, she will sit there and let you pet her. Before it was going around in circles to try and pet her. LOL She eats a cup and 1/2 in the morning and 1 cup at night. The three dogs line up for their treats with no problems. She looks out the front window and watches things.

She never shows any big interest when the squirrels are out so she will probably be ok with dog savvy cats as almost all commercial breeder dogs we get are. I don’t see any prey drive to her at all.  She is such a nice dog. Occasionally she will howl, but stops when you speak to her. She did bark when a stranger came in yesterday. I think she
was afraid. After a time, I put her in her crate so she would feel safe.  This sweet girl is ready to go!

1/01/25-Ila has been here for a week and a half. She got spayed yesterday and is doing well.
She has come a long way in a little time, and is still learning and adjusting. She eats well and has no accidents in the house. She does not go on the furniture. She is still quite shy but little by little is coming out of her shell. This is all new to her and she is coming  along nicely.
We spent a couple of days away at a friend’s house who has 4 dogs. Ila did great fitting into the pack and seemed to learn how to be a pack member. She does alot of tail wagging now, and always has her eyes on me, but still
keeps her distance. She goes out in the yard for long periods of time by herself and likes to explore the area. She is a very sweet girl and is ready for a forever home of her own.

12/26/24-My foster girl, Ila got groomed today. Lauren did an awesome job as usual! Thanks Lauren!
12/23/24-Ila arrived 2 days ago. She had a long transport here. She is a good girl, but still very afraid of things. She wants to come to you, but she is afraid and goes the other way. She didn’t eat anything for a day, but seems to be taking her meals well now. She sometimes will take treats from your hand, and sometimes you have to drop it on the floor and she will get it. She has done fine on the stairs out to the yard and likes to be out there and just look around and check things out.  As long as I get her out, she has no accidents. She is fine with the 2 little dogs we have here and they are not segregated at all. Ila is crated overnight and when I go out. She does have ear infections she is being treated for & is off to the groomers on Thursday 12/26. She is scheduled to get spayed next Tuesday 12/31 & then she will be ready for her forever home. She really is a good dog and is learning to fit into her surroundings very nicely. She will make a great addition to a loving family.

12/20/24-ila is a very beautiful female Standard Poodle who is turning 4yrs on Christmas Eve! She came in from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. Updates from her foster home soon.
