1/18/25-Willow is recovering great from her spay she is just about healed up. She has been with me almost a month and has adjusted wonderfully. Willow goes in and out of the house on her own. She does not have any accidents in the house. Lately she has been eating in the bathroom as my dog is a scavenger and doesn’t allow Willow to eat at her own pace. So lately I’ve been blocking her off in the back room and putting her food in the bathroom and letting her eat in peace which has been working great. If it wasn’t for my dog I would be able to freely leave her food down and let her eat on her own but unfortunately I can’t do that. She is just a all-around great girl. She is going to make some family very happy. Willow is still a little scared of things. She doesn’t let you just straight approach her. You have to work your way to her which is understandable but she’s getting a lot better and usually goes to her safe place which is her bed and then you’re able to pick her up or pet her or whatever you want to do. She really doesn’t come to you for pets and love at night yet but we know she will with time. I do put her in the bed with me and she does sleep all night long and loves to be pet while you’re laying in bed. She does the cutest little thing in the morning when you do get up or when she wakes up. She loves to roll around on the rug. She’ll nuzzle her face into the rug and then she’ll roll her body into it. I think all the curly fur. It probably feels good to her. Willow is ready for her very own family!

1/17/25-I took Willow to see the vet today for a follow up as she’s been having some discharge/slight bleeding after her spay going on for a couple of days. The vet said everything looks good. Her urine is a little concentrated but more than likely what’s going on is she probably was getting ready to go into heat prior to surgery.  She said there’s a little vessel that’s back there that maybe trying to produce blood but there’s really no blood to produce.  They’re going to just treat her with some antibiotics and some more pain pills just to make sure that she’s comfortable but vet said other than that she looks great. When i said Willow found her voice, she doesn’t bark constantly. It’s just when someone comes in but when you tell her no she does stop.

1/10/25-Sweet girl Willow is recovering from her spay and doing absolutely wonderful. She also loves to walk around with the socks she stole! They probably remind her of carrying her babies around. She is waiting patiently for her forever home.

1/7/25-Willow is recovering from her spay yesterday and is doing great . She has been just resting. I think she’s still a little loopy from the anesthesia. She definitely has become a lot more comfortable in her home setting. She has began to play with some toys and she loves to run around outside in the yard. Her new thing is playing with the mulch sticks and throwing them up in the air. She is just so precious! We are still working on walking on a leash as she just stands there and does not budge. Willow is now ready to go to her new home.

12/27/24-Willow is doing magnificent she has adjusted so well. Still a little skittish with certain movements or noises. She has recently started going in and out of the house on her own which is great. She has not had any accidents in the house recently as she has learned that we go outside. I have noticed with her though she has an easier time eating off of a flat surface then she does eating out of a bowl so I feed her off of a plate until I can get her used to bowl. She’s starting to get a little more playful as she is learning that she is in a safe space. Last night she did sleep with me and did great. Did not move once off the bed,  she slept throughout the whole night. Probably the best sleep she ever had!  I had family over for Christmas and Willow did great. She has a voice and she uses it quite often which is okay with me. Lol She just has to get used to the noises around her.

12/23/24-Willow is doing great our first night went very well. She has been bathed and feeling a lot better. She does have a little hair loss on her back end but with a good diet we will get that back. She is eating and drinking very well. We have had a couple accidents in the house but we have had a breakthrough and she has finally used the bathroom outside on the second night. No accidents in the house now. She’s doing great. She gets along wonderfully with the resident dog and cat in the house. Willow did meet my 2-year-old grandson. Was a little unsure at first but has adjusted and is doing great with him. She also is in love with her foster grandma.

12/20/24-Miss Willow is a 6 year old female Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/miniature poodle). She came from a commercial breeder as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport volunteers. Due to the holidays she is not being spayed until Monday 1/6. After that she will be ready to go to her new home.
