3/12/25-I brought Kodi to my sister’s house where he has never been. While we went to dinner he curled right up on her couch the entire time.  He only came down when we called through the camera to check on him. LOL He is the best dog and is so well behaved no matter where we go. His neuter is next Tuesday & then he will be ready to go to his new home.

2/23/25-I know someone is looking for a new friend! My foster Kodi is the perfect addition and will be the best companion.  He literally is my shadow- walks next to me off leash sleeps through the night, hasn’t had an accident in the house in 2 weeks let’s me dress him up to go for walks He’s great with other dogs, he’s a dream dog. Doing great on a leash too.  His neuter is Tuesday 3/18 & then he will be ready to go home.

2/21/25-Kodi had a huge day full of firsts for him.  Starting off he finally on his own went right up to a stranger (who was a male we have been working hard on this) butt wiggling and all.  Second we went to the pet store to reward his brave behavior and let him pick out a new toy which of course was a frisbee and a ball.
He let the man behind us pet him and kodi just sat so patiently.  When we got home we went outside to play and he often gets startled by my neighbors and barks and after a correction he sat and didn’t bark once at any of them.
We finally went up and down a full flight of stairs and then hopped right into the car without any coaching or help! He is the smartest boy and wants to make you proud and is so eager to learn.

2/18/25-Kodi is a perfect shadow dog and loves to be everywhere I am. He has improved so much walking on a leash. He also will follow me off leash outside. He still has a few accidents with potty training I think mainly due to the cold he gets distracted and then wants to just curl back on the couch. Gets along with dogs that he meets and is warming up to strangers faster. Loves to play fetch and show his perfect sit and shake.

1/27/25-Kodi is the opposite of his brother Charlie. I was so lucky with Charlie as my first foster I barely blinked when I said yes to kodi coming to me.  He struggles more than his brother but he is so smart and you can tell he just wants to be the best companion.  He would not walk on a leash at all, the sight of it made him fall flat to the ground. Not knowing what to do we tried a new collar and every hour would put it on walk around the house and attempt outside. Not even 48 hours later he found a collar that he is comfortable in and loves going on walks now.  Car rides are not his favorite yet but as long as a hand or arm is touching him he slumps right down and enjoys the ride!  He stays in bed all night and makes a good amount of noise when he is in need of a potty break. I love watching him break out of his shell with every passing hour. He is waiting for his new home to scoop him up!

1/26/25-Kodi is the best side kick. First night with me and he slept in bed the whole night and is the best at letting me know when he wants to go outside.

1/25/25-My first foster was so fun I took in his brother! Kodi is a ball of energy and could spend hours chasing you around in the snow. Plays great with other dogs and loves to just lounge around.  Someone adopt him!

1/16/25-Kodi is doing great & isn’t a problem puppy at all.  He is doing really good with everything except for the leash, he drops down and won’t move and with this weather I can’t really work with him.  Maybe if he had another dog to walk along with him he may feel more comfortable. He’s very smart & learned sit, give paw, lay down, in just the two weeks!  My fridge blew out and the repair guy was here today and he was much better with him. Prior to this he was nervous when guys came in & ran and hid. He really is good, and a snuggler, he likes to sleep on my lap in the recliner. He is much better with the crate, and cries when he has to go out potty. Pretty amazing for just being here for such a short time. Due to vacation plans he is moving to the foster home who had his brother Charlie, who was adopted this week. Kodi wants to know where his new family is as his bags are packed!

1/12/25-Update on adorable & awesome Kodi puppy! On top of sit he has learned “bedtime” he will go and lay down when I tell him it’s bedtime. He is doing well with “leave it and no” Kodi is a fast learner, has not had any accidents in the house, but will use a pee pad if I don’t catch him on time to go outside. He is still leary of men but warms up after a while. No problems with females. Not a fan of the leash and is doing  much better with the crate. He answers to his name quite well.  This guy is ready for his new home!

1/10/25-Kodi says “How about me?  I’m cute and cuddly and waiting on my perfect family to come along. Please adopt me so I can take this stupid bandana off!” LOL

1/07/25-Just chillin’ with my foster mom.  I learned something called SIT, and I’m proud to say I do it really well. Foster mom says ” Good boy Kodi”  and that’s so nice to hear. After I go potty outside we get to play in the yard. and I get a special cookie that I just love, it’s yummy.

1/06/25-Working on sit, Kodi is doing very well with it, seems to be very smart boy & catches on fast.

1/05/25-Little boy Kodi is  adjusting so well, he goes outside to potty but still is a little scared coming back in over the threshold. Loves to play ball and even brings it back to you. Eating and drinking just fine. Loves having his belly rubbed and cuddling. He will snuggle in your arms or on your lap like a baby. He will go in the crate by himself and lay down rather than sleep next to me.  More updates to come.

1/04/05-This little boy is so cute and cuddly!  He’s very good & got his first bath today. Last night went very well, he was in the yard and doing zoomies within the first half hour, he hasn’t had any accidents in the house & does his business outside as long as you stand out there with him at this point. A little scared to come back in right now but goes right out. He is not a fan of the crate, he does go in but was very anxious and crying when i let him out (I had to run out for about 20 minutes and I could hear him crying and howling outside). I know he will get better.  He smelled really bad so I gave him a bath and he really seemed ok with it, did not try to jump out but you could tell he was scared.  Dried him off and brushed him out and he just layed there loving the attention, and I’m sure it made him feel better. He loves laying in my lap and getting belly rubs, he will lay there all day if you keep rubbing him! LOL He is eating and drinking good and playing with toys. I think he is going to be a bundle of joy to whoever adopts him. He doesn’t show all that fear that some breeder puppies do and loves to be pet right off the bat!

1/03/25-Kodi is a very sweet & handsome 18 week old male standard size aussie (Australian Shepherd). He came in tonight from a commercial breeder along with his brother Charlie as they just got too old to sell.  Thanks go out to their transport volunteers who braved a big storm!  Kodi is the bigger of the two & we estimate he will be about 65 lbs full grown.
