3/2/25-Madame “Mammy” Curie is still searching for her furever home.  She is a sweet well-adjusted girl.  Her fur is growing back after her matted fur was shaved off.  She will be beautiful when she has a poodle look.  She likes new people after she feels relaxed around them.  She has filled out from how she came in from her rescue. This girl is perfect! We have no idea why no one has scooped her up yet.

1/25/25-Madame “Mammy” Curie was tired after her morning watching the kids bowl at the bowling alley. She was great with the loud noises and she enjoyed meeting quite a few new people & loved all the kids.

1/21/25-Madame Curie is not very happy with me right now after her spay yesterday. Look at that sass!  She is doing very well.  The vet confirmed she does have a grade 2 out of 4 luxating patella issue common in small dogs.  Nothing needs done for it. She likes to chase the cats just enough to make them run from her otherwise she gets along well with them.   It doesn’t take long for Madame Curie to want to greet new people with kisses.  Don’t wait too long to adopt this sweet little girl who will quickly melt your heart.

1/20/25-Madame Curie was spayed today. Brooke at the vet loved her top knot so much that she wanted one too! Lol Thank you to the staff for the excellent care you gave  Madame Curie today.  She loves other dogs & people & very well adjusted & will be fine in a even a more active neighborhood. She is the easiest going foster dog I have ever had. She is now ready to go home!

1/14/25-Mammy seems to be okay with my cats.   My cats are used to dogs and will try to greet the new dog.  Mammy’s first reaction to my larger grey cat was to bark and scare him away.  Now she is barking and chasing them less and ignoring them more as the days progress.  My husband said that there were no instances yesterday while I was away at work. Mammy should be fine with dog savvy cats as long as the new home also is used to giving a dog time to adjust to any cat.

1/12/25-Madame Curie had her groom today, she was so matted. Thank you Sarah from Punky Pawz Pet Grooming LLC who did a marvelous job & donated the groom!  See the before and after photos, amazing difference & Mammy must feel so much better! She was afraid of the dryer so we let her dry on her own in the warm house.

01/10/25-Madame Curie (aka: Mammy) is a sweet as can be 4 year old miniature poodle. She came in today from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport volunteers. She has lyme disease that she is being treated for with antibiotics & ear infections she has medication for too.  Her initial quick vet check when she came in noted that she may have a luxating patella(like a “trick knee”) in her left rear leg. We will get a second opinion from our vet when she goes in for her spay.

Mammy is making herself right at home exploring her new surroundings and meeting her foster doggy siblings.  They are getting along very well so far.  She drank quite a bit of water which made me very happy as new fosters don’t tend to eat and drink for a few days.   She will be groomed Sunday so don’t let her scruffy looks make you hesitate to adopt her. Super Friendly – walks on a leash & walks around all the time with her tail wagging! She is such a happy girl. She is being spayed on Monday 1/20 & will be ready to go to her new home after that. Don’t wait too long to get your application in for her as this great of a little girl is going to go fast!
