3/5/25-Kalani’s personality has come out since we got his diarrhea issue under control. He has fit in nicely to our home. He has no issue with sleeping in his crate at night or when we go out. He is done with his meds and is on
3 meals a day to get some weight on him. He is a happy boy and always wants to sit in the recliner with me – I’m never alone! LOL Being 14 months old, he is quite inquisitive. Since he arrived, he has always responded to “no”
and moves on. He is a pleasure to have here.  Now that the snow is almost gone, we will go for walks and take time for some leash training. Please consider adopting Kalani, he is adorable.

2/26/25-Kalani had an emergency vet visit yesterday as he was still having bad diarrhea & losing weight.  We have Chewy delivering his food that was recommended by the vet & he takes all his meds fine. He is frisky this morning so must be feeling somewhat better from his colitis.  Currently he doesn’t make it through the night without accidents in his crate. The vet tech said he was OK with the strange dogs when she took him out back, but showed a little too much interest in the cats so he is definitely a no to cats. I guess it will take a few more days to get his tummy better.  I can’t wait! LOL. Seems like the house training has to be readdressed too. He’s kind of a mess right now, but getting better. He is such a good boy though and still so happy. He has started drinking more water this morning, before he had no interest in it. He does eat snow and I have warm water over his food at every feeding. So, more time I guess!

2/22/25-My new foster boy Kalani is a sweetheart! He arrived today to his foster home and was all wiggles. He is a happy boy. He sniffed our 2 chihuahua boys and they sniffed him. All is good. He went out in the yard and ran around. I walked him down the street and back. He needs work on the leash. Once he settles in, I will work on that. He is stretched out beside me as I am doing this update. He needs to gain some weight, but that won’t be hard to do. Food is a good motivator for him. I will do another update as I get to know him better. He is having really bad diarrhea right now so we are going to get him on the antibiotic metronidazole to help clear that up.

2/21/25-Kalani & Dempsey (white on face) are very handsome & sweet sibling 14 month old boxer owner surrenders coming into rescue tomorrow. They were owned by a family member that sadly passed away. This family took them on but they have young children and busy lives and having dogs wasn’t part of the plan & they are struggling with normal young Boxer boy craziness. Their current owner said they are eFence, crate and house trained & good with other dogs & kids of all ages. Updates soon from both their foster homes.
