5/27/25-Yesterday my other foster left giving me more time to spend doing more human interaction with Scarlett. I removed her safe place bed and put it in the living room. At first she would just stand in the empty space. Today I just started saying find your bed and she runs into the living room. I also have dog beds on my bed for my other dogs. She will lay till I get up and go back to her own bed. Today she stayed up on the bed with the other dogs when I left the room. She continues to be the best outside potty girl. Anyone looking for a quiet apartment dog Scarlett is your girl. She has not made a peep since coming into rescue. I have a yapping Yorkie and she hasn’t rubbed off on her. Lol Currently Scarlett is on my bed excepting ear rubs. With this girl she is just still afraid of the initial approach but loves it once you start loving on her.Â
5/19/25-Scarlett has been with us at her new foster home for 24 hours and doing well. The other dogs are giving her the confidence to move about the house freely. She seems to be house broken. The problem ? Me, as Taylor says. I’m the problem its me. She seems to be wary of me and goes out of her way to avoid me. She does allow me to pick me up from her bed and will sit on my lap. Last night she ate cheese out of my hand. She and my other foster Raine have made friends and this morning they had zoomies in the yard before breakfast. Lets see what a few more days brings as as she settles in. Thursday she has a groomers appoint for a proper “snooty schnauzer” cut. LolÂ
5/15/25-Someone had a birthday this week! We had expected Scarlett would be able to celebrate with her new home, but sadly no one has picked her even after 2 months! We are shocked as mini schnauzers are so rare to be in rescue & are great dogs. Due to her foster home’s upcoming vacation, Scarlett is moving to another foster home on Sunday. She will have some new doggie playmates & a fenced yard to explore the outside more.Â
5/7/25-What a surprise. Today I put some small chunks of fresh carrot with a little bit of peanut butter on them in Scarlett’s food dish. And guess what, she ate them all while I wasn’t looking!
4/18/25-It’s beautiful weather so i am styling in my new bright green stroller at the beach today. Miss Scarlett seems to prefer to stick her nose out the side of her crate today. Lol I still have no clue if she has a voice as she hasn’t barked. She is crate and house trained & will come out of crate on her own but not very far. Prefers not to have an audience when eating.Â
4/9/25-Day 28 and today she relaxed enough to fall asleep on my chest and…she walked out of her crate when called. Of course she woke up as soon as she heard the camera click! Lol
3/30/25-Scarlett is tucked in snug as a bug. She is still scared of everything and mom was running the vacuum. Â She does well when on tie out to potty. Tried to leash walk her but she planted and dug in on the road. Â She will need encouragement to keep on trucking. Â She has been getting calming treats with the hemp and melatonin and lavender 30 minutes before a meal. She is definitely going to need a very patient family.
3/15/25-Scarlett is sitting up in the crate and discovered a toy!

03/11/25-Scarlett is a gorgeous 3 year old female mini schnauzer. She came in today from a commercial breeder as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport volunteers. She was spayed & had a dental cleaning with 2 extractions.
She’s still so stressed but did eat & drink.
