5/15/25-Fern McZoomies loves to go for a walk in the neighborhood! Look at that happy little strut! We can’t figure out why she is still waiting for her new home.
5/8/25-Hi Fern here! I’m on the lookout for my new best friend and furever home. Some of my favorite pastimes? Well, they include (but definitely aren’t limited to) stealing hearts, toys, and bones. I’m a big fan of sunbathing, going on short strolls, and trying my best to convince the pugs that I’m one of them. Chewing on extra-tough bones? Absolutely. The tougher the better! And don’t even get me started on ice cubes—pure joy, especially after a neighborhood walk! Zoomies? Oh, I’ve got those down. Don’t be fooled by this bulldozer build—I’ve got moves! Naps are a must (I mean, who doesn’t love a good nap?), especially on the couch or in your lap – don’t worry, I can fit! Oh, and couches—yes, please. Especially the ones with fluffy blankets I can “borrow” to build the coziest blanket forts. So much fun! What do you think? Could we be a match?
5/2/25-Fern McZoomies – Queen of Snuggles and Sofa Thrones! Looking for a best friend who’s part potato, part princess, and 100% sweetheart? A low-rider with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This adorable gal LOVES comfy couches, sunny naps, chewing in her bones, and being near her people. With her squishy face and soulful eyes, she’s mastered the “love me forever” look. And trust us—it works. Fern is:
– Sweet, happy, and affectionate
– Crate trained
– Knows some basic commands (Sit, leave it, off, no)
– 95% housebroken
– Great on a leash and loves short strolls
– The perfect mix of laid-back and lovable with some happy, bouncy zoomies in between
– Ready to be the queen of your heart (and your furniture)
Whether you’re watching Netflix, working from home, or just need a cuddle buddy, Feen is your girl. She’s looking for a forever home where she can lounge like royalty and soak up all the love. Your couch won’t be complete without her!
4/27/25-Fern McZoomies here, and I’m on the hunt for my furever home! I absolutely love kids and other dogs—I’m a big-hearted girl who’s all about cuddles and playtime. Imagine a pug puppy’s personality packed into a bulldog body—that’s me! Super sweet, super loving, and maybe just a little unaware of my size. I’m learning all about house training. My foster home has a doggie door, and I figured that out fast! I love going outside to sunbathe, chew on sticks, and do my business in the yard like a proper lady. Last weekend was a big one—I got out of the shelter, moved into my cozy foster home, and got to experience all sorts of excitement. There was even a bunny who dropped off treats for the little girl here! I stayed quiet and calm through all the excitement, and when guests came by the next day, I was the perfect hostess. Everyone said I was such a good girl—and I loved hearing that.
I asked Mom what exciting adventures we had planned for the weekend, but all she talked about was laundry and chores. Yawn! I guess I’ll just hang out and chew on my bones. Unless… I get to help with the laundry! Blanket forts, here I come! When I first arrived, I had to respect the pugs’ space and chill on the floor when I got a bit too excited. But now? We’re couch buddies and napping pals. Life is pretty amazing here, but I know my perfect forever family is out there. Could it be you?
4/25/25-Hi there! My name is Fern McZoomies, and I’m basically a pug trapped in a bulldog’s body — meaning I’m packed full of love, energy, and absolutely no concept of my own size! I love people. Like, really love them. Getting attention, snuggles, belly rubs, and hearing how cute I am (because, let’s be real, I am) totally makes my day. I’m still pretty puppy-like — I get excited easily and sometimes my feet leave the ground when I greet you. I’m working super hard on keeping “all four on the floor,” though! A calm, confident buddy helps me remember my manners when my happiness meter tips into overdrive. Sometimes, if I’m really overstimulated, I might get a little mouthy — not in a mean way, just in a “I have too many feelings and no thumbs” kind of way. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on your fingers and face if I’m extra bouncy! I really love doggy friends, too. I love the idea of playing, but I’m still figuring out how to play gently. Because of my bulldog-ish enthusiasm, I’d do best with dog friends who are my size or bigger and who can keep up with my happy zoomies. Little dogs? I love them too, but sometimes they think I’m a bit much (whoops). At home, I’m learning all about good manners — like how the couch isn’t my personal jungle gym and how to let the little dogs have their chill time. I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come! When I’m not playing, you can usually find me basking in the sun, building a cozy blanket fort under the recliner, or chewing happily on my favorite bones. I’ve already mastered SIT (thank you very much!) and I’m working on OFF and LEAVE IT like a true scholar. I just had my spay surgery and the vet staff absolutely adored me (of course they did). I’m healing up nicely and feeling great — just getting through a little ear infection too, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.
I’m a total pro in the car, walk like a dream on a leash, and love meeting new furry friends when we’re out and about. Basically, I’m a little (big) ray of sunshine looking for my forever family to love, learn, and laugh with.
Are you ready to zoom into life with me? I promise every day will be your new favorite day. Love, Fern McZoomies
4/22/25-Fern is back home and recovering well from her spay surgery. The entire staff at the vet’s office absolutely adored her sweet personality. She’s currently being treated for an ear infection over the next 10 days, but otherwise, she’s doing great and is clearly happy to be home. Fern did wonderfully during the car rides to and from the vet and walks beautifully on a leash. She was also excited to meet other pets at the clinic and remained friendly and calm while leashed. She is very smart too & she sits better than my pugs! Lol
4/20/25-Another morning, another cozy blanket cave! Fern McZoomies had an awesome day yesterday. She absolutely adores hanging out in her blanket fort under the recliner, basking in the sun on the deck, and gnawing on her favorite bones. She’s mastered the SIT command and is currently working on OFF and LEAVE IT. With her radiant smile and joyful personality, it’s impossible not to fall head over heels for this sweet girl.
4/19/25-Fern had a great first day. We’re learning a lot about her. She’s incredibly sweet and adores people—she thrives on love and attention! She has a playful, puppy-like energy and gets excited easily. A calm and confident presence helps her stay well-mannered, especially when she’s feeling extra enthusiastic. We’re working on keeping “all four paws on the ground,” as she can get a little jumpy in her excitement. Like many young pups, she can be a bit mouthy or nippy when she’s overstimulated (no aggression), so it’s best to monitor hands, fingers, and face kisses to ensure gentle interactions. She’s eager to make doggy friends and loves the idea of playtime, but she’s still learning how to play gently. Because of her size and enthusiasm, she may do best with dogs her size or larger who can match her energy or smaller ones just as crazy. We’ve been working on setting healthy boundaries, including keeping her off the couch—this helps maintain harmony in the home and gives our smaller pups a safe space to relax. She’s doing really well with our male dog, though her energy can be a bit much for our female dogs at times. More updates soon!
4/18/25-Fern McZoomies is Free from the shelter! This Good Friday is extra special—it’s also Freedom Friday for our newest foster, Fern McZoomies! Fern is a sweet little mix, likely part pug and part english bulldog or even Frenchie (sorry, she’s not talking to let us know! Lol). She’s around a year old, though it’s just a guess since she was found as a stray.
She’s an absolute lovebug—obsessed with people, full of energy, and makes the cutest piggy snorts you’ve ever heard. Her favorite pose? Sprawled out in full froggy showing off her hammy cheeks. Available soon…keep an eye out—this zoomy girl won’t be waiting long!
Must love snoring! Lol
04/17/25-Fern McZoomies is a sweet about 1 year old stray to a shelter we work with. She was found with a Frenchie we took in too (Petunia) & no one claimed them. We think she is a pug/English bulldog mix she is coming in tomorrow thanks to her transport volunteers. She has her spay & heartworm test next Monday 4/21. Once we get to know her better too she will be ready to go to her new home.
