6/20/25-The joy of a foster dog feeling the grass under their feet! Reece is day 1 post op from her spay, her incision looks excellent and pretty high up on her belly so we are letting her trot a bit and get some fresh air, while she recovers. After all; we do have a few pounds to shed- both of us that is! Lol Reece is ready to go to her new home.

6/17/25-Reece is currently nervous as expected but slowly coming out of her shell. She is slow to come out of her crate but when she does is rather curious and starting to explore the house and the yard. She is eating and drinking great and going to the bathroom regularly. She still needs help getting in and out the door, but once she’s outside she’s great. Could definitely use some increased activity (let’s just say she wasnt starved and my back is starting to ache from carrying her LOL). Indifferent right now about our dog but he may be helping with some modeling, it is sweet to see her look on while he is getting cuddled. You can tell she would love the same, but too hesitant still. She is accepting of pets and allowed us to look her over and get some big mattes out. When she’s out of the crate for a while and has her space to roam you can tell she starts to gain confidence, and her smile (and tongue) come out. She found her little voice the last two nights in the crate now that she is used to having people around so we will move her upstairs with us tonight. It was a very comical groan / high pitched bark/ whine- you can tell she hasn’t had much practice making noise! Lol

06/13/25-Reece is a sweet 2 year old female tri colored miniature Australian Shepherd. She came in from a commercial breeder that no longer needed her. She arrived into rescue today thanks to her transport & temporary foster home volunteers. She is overweight so we estimate she will be closer to 33lbs once in better shape. She will be spayed on Thursday 6/19 & will be ready to go home soon after that.
