7/14/25-Here is an update from Asher’s overnight spot: Asher did great last night. He got along fine with the dogs. I put the dog bed and his blanket next to the bed. He slept there and then would jump up with me and then go back to his bed again. I took him out this morning around 6:45ish and then we took a short walk before I took him to the vet for his neuter. He walks excellent on leash! Such a good boy. He met up with the cat this morning. He seemed to care less. Our cat on the other hand was completely offended we would bring another dog into the house! Lol Asher’s neuter was done & he did very well & will be going to his foster home tonight.
7/13/25-Asher is a beautiful 4 year old boxer boy that came into rescue today. He was sadly surrendered by his owner as she needed to take care of her elderly parents out of state & would be traveling frequently so could not keep him. The owner said Asher is a wonderful, well-behaved little man. He is used to living with cats so no issue there. He has been socialized with friends and family’s dogs and though he is 4 years old, he is very energetic and puppy-like. Stacie says he likes everyone and everything he meets. A crabby dog may find his energy a little much but he is submissive and takes correction well. He has not shown any resource guarding but will bark if he hears something outside. He has had exposure to children 2 y/o and up as Stacie has a few grandchildren of various ages and he is not aggressive or nippy with them. He may be a little jumpy but he is less than 45lbs! Asher was crate trained when he was young but he has had full run of the house for years now. She does contain him in a foyer with a gate which he respects. He is trained on a electric fence, housebroken and does not have anxiety. His neuter is tomorrow & once we get to know him better he will be ready to go to his new home!
