8/8/25-These girls would be great even with young kids. They are not snippy at all with toys or food. I tested them with my cat & they were both fine. They are good with my big and little dogs too.
7/24/25-Sophie had her spay today. She was a hit with the staff! She’s resting and here’s to keeping her low key….All kidding aside. She’s ready for her forever family. Of note, right now she gets carsick.. she was nauseous on the way to the vet. She threw up multiple times and was drooling like crazy. They gave her an anti nausea for the trip home and she did fine.
7/20/25-Sophie Rae continues to flourish. She’s now coming to us for affection. She is pee pad trained. Getting her to go outside all the time is a work in progress. She loves playing with Bonnie, our tripod rescue. Sophie is always up for fun!!
7/17/25-Sophie Rae and Harper have a new look thanks the Paw Wash in Oxford. How can they be even MORE adorable?? They are being spayed a week from today on Thursday 7/24. And hopefully on to their forever homes soon after that. While they were found together, I can definitely see where they would be fine on their own. Sophie would benefit if she had a furry sibling (though not required) since she’s ALWAYS looking to play with another dog. Harper is more shy & she loves climbing on your lap. Harper would love to curl in your lap to sleep.
7/13/25-Sophie Rae & Harper have been with us since Wednesday night. They are starting to relax and show us their personalities. Sophie became very dehydrated a couple days ago. She had a few days of vomiting and lots of diarrhea. She went to the emergency vet & received fluids under the skin and anti-nausea medicine. She is doing so much better now. Sophie has FOMO (fear of missing out). She follows me/our other dogs to see what’s going on…She will accept affection and belly rubs but doesn’t ask for it yet. She’ll bark when doors open or close. She is sweet as can be.
They both LOVE exploring outdoors. They are hysterical running all around-sometimes synchronized and sometimes they go their separate ways. They are working on their housebreaking skills. They will do their business outside if I time it right.
7/9/25-Sophie Rae & Harper are very sweet about 1 yr old Yorkshire terriers that were strays to a shelter we work with. No one claimed them so they came into rescue yesterday thanks to our volunteer Kristen. We assume they may be sisters as they were found together but we are not sure. They are in the same foster home right now but do not need to be placed in the same new home though. They are curious, lively girls who are already asking for attention. Both initial vet checks said they seem healthy except for being very skinny. We are working on getting them spay dates asap & once they are spayed they will be ready to go to their new homes.
