1212/25-Great is doing well. When she first came the kitchen was her home base, then she moved to the living room to be us. Now she has moved to a bed on the floor in our bedroom. We are bringing her up on the bed for pets but she leaves when you start to doze off. She runs outside to go pee but in the cold weather she likes to #2 on the potty pads.Â
11/24/25-Greta moved to a new foster home today to try to help her get adopted. She will be groomed soon too. Updates soon.
10/28/25-Greta keeps feeling more confident each day! We keep the struggle snuggles coming and she puts up with it. She doesn’t like being picked up so we make sure to move slowly. She does a strange little cobra dance when we pet her where she sways from side to side. Not sure what it means but we think it’s cute! She is still working on going outside to go potty but is getting braver out in the yard and exploring more. She wears a collar fine but needs to learn about the leash and what to do. Greta loves entertaining herself with her toys, throwing them around to pounce on them & side stepping as she gets them…so cute! She’s a very sweet girl with a lifetime of fear she’s trying to overcome.
10/01/25-Greta is doing well & is finally starting to play crazy with her toys! So much more confidence.  She is continuing to learn to trust people & still will freeze and then we are able to pet her. We have been working on picking her up and putting her next to us on the couch for regular struggle snuggles! She enjoys being pet but will not seek us out yet. She still runs away from human contact but we know she will get there. She is doing great wearing her collar! She has learned how to come up the stairs but is still working on going down them. She is working on house training and we will be starting leash work. She does not use a crate at our house but really enjoys her dog bed.Â
9/7/25-Greta is starting to feel more comfortable! Still not seeking out human contact yet but she loves treats and will come to get them. She stays out with everyone in the living room now and we are starting to see her playful side. She even had a play fight with her dog bed! Lol
8/17/25-Greta Goose was spayed on Friday and did well. No more puppies for this little mama! She has a double ear infection so if her ears look greasy, it’s from her medicine. She is still very very scared of people and I think all of the handling from vet visits has made her more scared. She is back to hiding most of the time but I’m hoping she will be back to exploring more as she heals and feels better. We are going slow and steady to teach her that humans can be kind but it’s going to take a lot of love and patience to undo 5 years of life as just a breeder. Can you be that person for her?
8/10/25-Everyone meet Greta! She’s here as our newest foster pup looking for her forever home. While she’s unsure about being in a house right now, she seems very sweet! She is fine with our big dogs and the cats as well. Stay tuned for more info on Greta’s progress!
08/08/25-Greta is a tiny 5 year old Miniature poodle. She came in from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. Her spay appointment is next Friday 8/15 & she will be ready for her new home soon after.
