9/7/25-We had such a great weekend with Blanche. It’s been about a week since we’ve had an accident in the house! She’s living a life of R&R with couch cuddles and relaxing in the hammock, but we also got her socialized over the weekend. We walked with my kids to fall fest at a local establishment and she was a perfect lady. There were a lot of other dogs there, which she paid no attention to unless I initiated an introduction. She was very calm with every dog interaction. She also met so many people and was quick to rest her chin on anyone’s lap after a few pets and sniffs. We’ve also had some progress with the cats. She still gets a little excited, but calms right down with redirection. They can now all be in the same room without incident, it just took a slow introduction. Blanche is an absolute dream and would be the perfect addition to any home.
9/4/25-Blanche is the absolute sweetest girl. She loves car rides, walks and snuggles. She finds comfort in her crate, which is where she sleeps all night, even with the door open. We haven’t had any accidents inside in several days. It’s going to be so hard to let her go but we know she will be a great match for someone!
9/1/25-Blanche has really started to come out of her shell over the last few days. She is the happiest girl and just wants to be loved. She has successfully gone potty outside now, so we’ll be working on making sure that stays consistent. She is a little shy at first when meeting some people, but quickly opens up and will rest her chin on anyone’s leg for some pets and love. We have loved getting to know Blanche and seeing her personality shine. I’ve got a 65 pound lap dog on my hands. Lol
8/27/25-Blanche was spayed today and is almost ready to find her forever family! Her spay went great and all bloodwork came back normal. We are still dealing with accidents in the house and it doesn’t seem that she has ever really gone outside to relieve herself, so we will continue to work on that. We have struggled a little with introducing her to the cats as she will bark and chase them if they make a surprise appearance, but if she is redirected she tends to leave them alone. We gave her a bath sunday, which she was a dream for! She laid down for over an hour while my kids and I brushed her afterwards too. Blanche is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met and will be such a good addition to any family! She will be ready to go to her new home in a few days.
8/23/25-After less than 24 hours, here is what we already know about Blanche! She loves being close to her humans and gives lots of kisses to my 4 yr old kids. Belly rubs are her favorite, and she’ll plop right over at your feet when she wants them. She walks great on a leash and ignores any dogs we have walked past. No pulling, she just wants to stay close. She slept in her crate all night and didn’t make a peep, unless my cats came out of the basement. She hasn’t officially met the cats yet, but barked at them every time they popped their heads out while he was in her crate last night. We will work on a real intro once the cats are more comfortable and ready for it. We had an accident in the house last night when she first arrived, but nothing since. She is such a calm, sweet girl! With her 1 blue eye & 1 brown eye she is a looker too! She is already very curious about her new foster home. Updates to come as we get to know her, but my kids and I are already in love. STAY GOLDEN!
08/22/25-Blanche is a gorgeous 3 year old female blue merle standard size Australian Shepherd. She came in from a commercial breeder as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived into rescue today thanks to her transport volunteers. Her pre-spay appointment is Tuesday & she will be spayed on Wednesday 8/27 & will be ready to go home soon after that.
