12/29/25-Punkin had all but 2 teeth removed. The Vet said they were so loose they practically fell out. She must have been in so much pain. So grateful to Second Chance for giving these babies a new lease on life! She is now ready for her new home.

12/25/25-Punkin gets more and more comfortable every day. Her bark is a quiet raspy sound. Cracks us up! Hopefully she will be ready for her new home soon!

12/21/25-Punkin is so, so sweet & such a love. She’s not really interested in any other dog but Perseus. Unfortunately, he’s a bit of a loner. She wags her tail when she sees us. Is sleeping through the night on her bed next to our bed. She rarely barks. She’s sitting next to us on the coach now. She would not be comfortable with little kids as she’s easily scared by quick moves around her body to pick her up. Slow and steady, she’s fine. I know her teeth/mouth are really bothering her. She brings the phrase dog breath to new heights. I cannot wait for her to have her dental because I cannot imagine  how uncomfortable she is. But in spite of it all, she’s a love. She’s going to feel much better after her dental.

12/18/25-Punkin is ready for the Holidays. The groomer said she was a peach. She looks fabulous now!

12/17/25-3’s Company. Punkin came up on the couch with me & my dogs Perseus, and Bonnie. She’s getting more settled every day. She walks with her red leash but also goes out with the crew. She’s not a fan of the crate but settled down when she’s gated in a room.

12/15/25-Punkin sleeps in her bed next to us. She is not sleeping through the night yet. I’ve found most of my fosters haven’t as they are not used to the noises of their new surroundings. She follows us around and has been introducing herself to our dog pack. She knows her red leash means we’re going outside. No accidents, even with the bitter cold. She’s scheduled for a checkup & dental Monday 12/29 & then she will be then ready for her forever family. She is an absolute love with the cutest head tilt when you talk to her.

12/14/25-What a difference a day makes!! Punkin is settling in with her fur brothers and sisters. She’s a bit of a beggar when we are eating. I’m thinking she was fed from the table. She’s as sweet as can be. Greeted me with tail wags when I came home from work.

12/13/25-Punkin is a 10 year old sweet little maltipoo (maltese/mini poodle) that came into rescue today thanks to her transport volunteers. She is an owner surrender as her elderly owners sadly couldn’t bring her to assisted living. They said she likes to snuggle & loved their cat. Since arriving at her foster home Punkin is lively, curious, but a little nervous right now, as expected. She loves going out with our other dogs. Right now, she’s in the living room watching the Knicks with the rest of my family. She loves people but I can see where she would not like young kids with their hands in her face. More to come
