8/6/26-I’m so amazed that Gucci is still in rescue and hasn’t been scooped up yet. He’s an awesome companion, happy to lay on the floor beside you, or lie on the sofa while you read or watch TV. He is a rock star to trim his nails and is also happy to join you in the shower for a nice spa activity. Yes he has a bald chest except for 2 tufts of hair, but mostly I don’t even notice it, and the rest has come in nicely. Yes Gucci does have allergies, but the apoquil helps a lot, that and a limited ingredient diet, and he loves vegetables too, as well as some fruits..especially watermelon.
Now as for walking, summer is slow walking days so he doesn’t need a hike to tire him out, as he’s pretty low energy, but he’s happy for a hike in the shade.
He currently lives with 2 other dogs without issues, and he’s been totally fine walking with other dogs, but I believe he’d also be happy as your only dog.
8/5/26-So sorry for the late update on Gucci in his new foster home, but we really needed to evaluate him with other dogs more. He’s absolutely awesome! He’s been exposed to many other dogs with nothing but awesome out comes, he’s great. In the more than 30 some dogs he’s been exposed to, only 2 has he not liked, which is why I have no problem admitting he’s great with other dogs. He’s a happy, relaxed boy who is ready for his forever home. Gucci would do well in an “only dog” home or a “multiple dog” home. He loves to cuddle, is a total gentleman taking treats and loves his breakfast and dinner. I honestly don’t know why he’s still in rescue as he’s simply awesome!
7/13/26-Gucci is an absolute love, just waiting for his perfect home. He continues to regrow hair after recovering 6 months ago from severe malnutrition & skin infection. He loves sunning himself outside several times a day to the point his foster mother worries he is going give himself heatstroke, but he does not care.
This past weekend he went to a celebration for pets, lots of people, pets and children and he had a great time. Gucci was ready to go home with every person and loved getting pets from children (including a 1.5 year old girl who was petting him & calling him Maize). Gucci also did great with every dog he met, big or small, he was happy & calm with everyone, even if they were a little too interested in him.
7/11/26-There have been absolutely no issues with Gucci with my dogs at all, they have been altogether after his initial 1/2 hour intro. Today he went to a rescue awareness day at a local privately owned pet supply place and he was great with other dogs, people and kids. We now feel it was just Gucci knowing the 1 dog in the prior foster home was sick & picking fights with him. He never had issues with the other 2 pugs in the house. So Gucci would be fine in a home with other dogs.
7/10/26-Gucci has moved to another foster home as his foster mom had to take another foster dog & we thought would be good for Gucci to be exposed to other dogs in a different environment. Updates soon.
6/16/26-Hi, I Gucci. I am ready for my forever home. When I first came to SCBR I was malnourished and missing most of my hair, but now I am AMAZING. The vet says my weight is perfect and most of my hair has grown back, except for my chest. My foster Mom puts me in tshirt on sunny days, so I don’t get sunburned and I take 2 allergy pills a day so my skin stays nice ( Apoquel & Benedryl). I get them in peanut butter. I am super social with all people, even the little ones, and love car rides. I like to sunbath in a fenced in yard or walk around the neighborhood on leash. I will do just about anything for treats. At home I would prefer to be the only dog. I will socialize with other dogs in public places, but at home I need to be assured that all belly rubs are for me only.
6/9/26-Gucci has been waiting too long for his forever home. He’s a wonderful Frenchie boy & thanks to his fan club his adoption fee is also now partially sponsored to try to help get him adopted.
4/13/26-Unfortunately after a month in his new home Gucci is looking for another home. He loves every human and dog he has ever met, he is a true social butterfly. But at home he wants to be an only dog or live with a non dominant female dog as he won’t stop going after my oldest male pug. He loves cuddles with or even just watching his human all day. He is crate trained, leash trained, mostly house broken and has all his vaccines. For allergies Gucci does need Apoquel daily (costs less than $40/month when bought at Costco) and Benedryl at night. He is also missing most of his hair on his chin and chest due to previous neglect. Gucci doesn’t let that stop him and right now the only care he needs for it is sunscreen and a t-shirt. Please consider adopting Gucci, he will provide endless love & laughter to you and any social event you attend with him.
3/12/26-Gucci was adopted!
2/28/26-Needed to give you a little update on Gucci. So now he only needs baths as needed when he gets itchy. Right now last time was about 3 weeks ago. He’s more social and silly by the day. Loving cuddles. Still on Appoquel 2x a day and duck and potato food. Other than food & Apoquel he is now pretty low maintenance. He just loves to be with you.
2/5/26-Gucci is doing amazing. After coming to our rescue with demodex mange(not contagious), infected ears and malnourished he has rebounded beautifully and has the most loving temperament. Gucci has gained weight and is only 1lb from his goal weight, his ears are clear and clean and he is even starting regrow fuzz on his belly and lower legs (& in very sparse patches on his neck). He is only needing bathing once a week now. He is definitely a velcro dog wanting to be with his people. We have also learned he is good with smaller children. He’s just learning about toys and having a great time here. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him and comments on his sweetness. Too bad no one has snatched up this sweet this boy yet.
1/19/26-Great news! Gucci went for his follow up at the vet today. His ear infections are almost completely cleared up. He will need his ear meds through Friday, then he should be good. He no longer needs Nextgard every 2 weeks (which was to help his skin). He will need to continue on a limited ingredient hypoallergenic diet, Apoquel twice a day for at least 6 months, baths 2 times a week & daily moisturizing until his skin is fully healed. He is up to 28 lbs & vet would like to see him at 30 to 32 lb, without giving him chicken, beef or turkey. Whoever adopts him will be getting a massive goodie bag from me: His food, his snacks, shampoo, moisturizer, ear meds, his neck/chest protecting garment. Gucci is a very sweet boy, any home will be lucky to have him.
1/17/26-Gucci’s skin is looking so much better! There is still no hair, but he has healthy pink skin now. This week he is going down to a bath 2 times a week and daily moisturizing. He is on Natural balance duck & potato. He is now ready for his new home!
