4/2/26-Koda has been with me for almost two weeks. He is the best boy & is doing wonderful. His Heartworm/lyme testing came back negative. He now sleeps comfortably in his bed alongside my bed. He goes to it without hesitation and stays there all night. He is in a crate when I am not home and he does well. He does whine a little bit initially then settles down. Koda understands several commands – sit, down, off, paw and also responses if you tell him to get a toy. He goes and shakes one and comes back without it. Lol He does not destroy his toys at all. He has not attempted to table or counter surf. Koda does not jump on you even when he is getting out of the crate after my work day. His manners are wonderful. He tends to follow me wanting to know where I am going. Koda will also follow my resident female Boxer. He always backs off if she gives him a little warning. It was funny yesterday the both went into the same crate for a minute. I think my girl was looking for a treat that he did not eat. He is not big on treats but he does enjoy a chew stick. He has gotten on my lap a few times and sits still for a bit. Koda is a great dog – he deserves a loving family.
3/27/26-Last night Koda slept in his bed next to my bed. He was a good boy. He slept there through the night.
3/24/26-Koda arrived to his foster home on Saturday. He rides very well in the car and is able to get in and out without assistance. I took him for his rabies and distemper vaccines on Sunday. He also had the Heartworm/lyme testing done with all testing coming back negative. This was done at Tractor Supply’s vet services. It requires going into the store with other animals waiting for their turn to see the vet. His behavior was calm and settled. Since Koda’s arrival he has done well with my female boxer. He has slept in his crate, settling quickly, no barking, maybe a cry or two. He goes to the door to be let out when he needs to potty. Koda is a happy, well mannered Boxer, a perfect gentleman. He will be a great addition to your family/pack.
Here were some comments from 3 of Koda’s transport volunteers on Saturday too that helped get him into rescue:
“Just picked up Koda, he’s a very sweet boy.”
“I’m obsessed with him! Perfect in every way. Rides perfectly in the car. He knows sit and shake.”
“Oh my gosh I may run away with this guy. He’s perfect!!”
3/21/26-Koda is a handsome 6 year old make boxer with the rare natural/long tail! He is an owner surrender that came into rescue today as his owner was forced to move & wasn’t able to find a dog friendly place they could afford. His owner was heartbroken to give him up but said they just wanted the best for him. He lived with & was good with dogs, cats & baby & older kids. Here are some comments from his owner: “He’s a very good boy. Listens to commands very well. A big protector of his people and home. He loves to make a nest with his bed and fluffy blankets. Loves the biggest and fluffiest toys possible. Thinks he’s a lap dog and would love to just sit and snuggle all day. He can sit, shake, lay down, wait for a treat, and go lay down in his bed when told so.”
