8/29/26-Finally got Riley on the bed. And she immediately fell asleep. she has been coming out of her shell more the past couple days. A little more playful. She just wants to be near us all the time. She would definitely do best with someone who is home most of the time or would take her with them on adventures. And a dog sibling would be great. She is very calm and well behaved and is just a sweetheart. I hope her new perfect family comes along soon!
8/26/26-Riley would do best with someone who is home a lot…retired/ works from home, work opposites etc. She never settles when we leave her. I watch her on the cameras and she paces nonstop if she isn’t in her crate and in her crate she barks the whole time.. She never barks other than if she crated- she really hates it so I really try to leave her out if possible. She sleeps all day next to me when I work from home. For sure she is going to be a great dog for some lucky person/ family.
8/18/26-I wasn’t at the right angle to get them in one shot but Riley was looking at the little devils (aka 3 frenchies). I really think she thinks they are her puppies the way she keeps an eye on them. It’s super cute. Riley is home from her spay and resting . I was hoping she would crash in her crate but she just wants to be near us and immediately fell asleep. She has a cone but for now I took it off so she can be comfortable. The vet said today she heard a heart grade 2 heart murmur on the left side only that she didn’t hear last week on her first visit so not sure if it is maybe from stress- but new owner will just need monitor at vet checkups. Hasn’t seemed to bother her since she has been here with us. Hopefully she has a smooth spay recovery and can be on her way to her new life soon!
8/16/26-My 3 frenchies are back. They don’t exactly roll out the welcome mat but we’re making progress. Riley wants to play with them but she is not quite sure what to think of them. At least she has some dog company- she watches their every move.
8/14/26-Riley honestly is a dream. I left her out for about 3 hours yesterday when I went to doctor appointment. She was good- she seems house trained. Not one accident. She sleeps all night on a dog bed in our room. She’s figuring out how to play with toys too. Walks good on a leash. She would be my definition of a perfect boxer.
8/13/26-Riley is doing great. She’s doing much better eating from a bowl now. She will be spayed next Tuesday 8/18. She hates being in the crate though. I sent my frenchies to stay with my ex husband because my 10 year old female was having a meltdown from back to back fosters. So I was able to leave Riley out alone for about an hour last night. I watched her on the cameras and she paced the house the whole time but was not destructive at all. She has had no accidents. She sleeps though the night on a dog bed next to our bed. I think she would do best with another dog for company but she is just the sweetest, calmest, prettiest girl and a perfect house guest. I always tuck my dogs in under a blanket…she’s good with it. Lol. She’s a really great dog. Can’t wait to see who will be lucky enough to adopt her!
8/10/26-Riley had a good night. She has not had any accidents inside. Just went for a walk and did great. We tried putting her in the crate to sleep and she did not appreciate it at all – barked like crazy- so we brought her in the bedroom and she slept on a dog bed beside the bed and once she settled down she slept all night. She doesn’t seem to know how to eat out of a dog bowl. She knocks the food out and eats off the ground. That’s a first for me. She also is trying to figure out stairs in the house. She is super calm- Doesn’t jump. Her little nub is starting to wag-She is a really great girl! She had her vet checkup & shots & tested positive for Lyme and anaplasmosis (tick borne infections, not contagious). She is on doxycycline antibiotic to clear these up. Her spay is set for next Tuesday 8/18 & soon after she will be ready for her new home.
8/9/26-Riley is a gorgeous almost 4 year old boxer that came in today from a small breeder that was downsizing. She is from same place as foster girl Ruby. The breeding dogs were not kept in the house so she will need time to adjust. She is super sweet. She met 2 of the grumpy frenchie girls- uneventful. She’s a beauty! She’s sweet as can be, gentle, and beautiful. Someone is going to be very lucky to adopt her! Don’t miss out on this girl- she is amazing! She was a 10/10 passenger on her car rides to her foster home. She was content and cuddly and managed to charm everyone she came in contact with. She is friendly with other dogs . Wiggled her lil nub when kids went past us. Walks well on a leash.
