7/2/21-We’ve had Rasta for a week now, and he is an absolute LOVE! At almost 1.5, he is still very much in his “puppyhood” but is learning new things every day. He currently gets very excited (happy excited) in new situations and, so far, he has loved all of the humans and dogs we have introduced him to.
A typical Boxer puppy, Rasta loves to run and play. He is still a little mouthy, but we are doing well redirecting him to his chew toys.
Rasta knows the basic commands, is crate trained, and we’re working on identifying his signals for when he needs to go out. It’s a big challenge to go to a house full of dogs, cats, a bird and fish – Rasta is handling it like a champ!
PS- We are definitely a “pets are allowed on the furniture” household. Please keep this in mind if you are considering adopting Rasta.

7/1/21-Here is a little more background info on Rasta. His owner was having several health & financial issues so had to make the very hard decision to turn him over to rescue to find another home. She got him as a puppy & she saw his boxer Mom & was told he is purebred. He couldn’t have his tail docked as he was born during covid lockdown where vets were closed (can only dock tails first few days after born).
He lived with & was good with an older small dog. He also lived with cats but he liked to chase them but didn’t hurt them. Rasta lived on a farm with a fenced in yard & loves to run, fetch, and play with other dogs when they visit.
His owner said Rasta is a great dog. He is good with kids of all ages but he is a big boy & very excitable.  When he is excited he jumps so we would not place him with kids under 4. His owner said he has a very sweet and loving disposition. She jokingly use to tell people that he has an extra heart where his brain should be! Typical young boxer boy who will need some training & to be able to burn off some energy.  Don’t miss out on this great boy!
6/29/21 Rasta arrived this weekend, and is a well loved owner surrender.  He’s a young exuberant boy who loves playing with his foster sisters and foster mom and dad.
He is scheduled to be neutered and brought up to date on his shots this week.
So check back soon,  as we get to know him better and will have lots more to tell you about this handsome guy.
