5/21/23-Just an add on about what vet said about Gypsy’s red eye. The vet is not worried about it at all & said it’s normal. She thinks the pink third eyelid gives appearance of an issue but no concern. Her only concern was possibly needing all mammary tissue removed at some point in Gypsy’s future as she gets older, but it is not necessary now.

5/18/23-Gypsy had her pre spay vet appointment today. Vet doesn’t feel she has entropion eye issue so no surgery for that. She does have a bad tooth with nerve exposure which will be pulled during her spay next Friday 5/26. This sweet girl will be ready to go home after that!

5/16/23-Gypsy has come a long way in a short time! She no longer resource guards food or her space. She cuddles with all of the other dogs and has started to play wrestle with them. I saw her play with a toy for the first time this morning!! She hasn’t had any accidents in the house! She doesn’t know how to let us know she needs to go out, she just follows the others.  We are working on basic commands like sit but she comes readily when called.  She loves to cuddle with humans too and gives the sweetest kisses!

5/11/23-Everyone is pretty chill here! Gypsy is a beautiful dark brindle girl & is starting to explore and play a little the last 2 days.

5/10/23-Gypsy has her pre-spay appointment next Thursday 5/18. Her surgeries are on Friday 5/26 & she will be ready to go home after that. More updates soon from her foster home.

5/9/23-We had stopped at the pet store to give her a bath on the way home last night to get the puppy mill stink off her. She didn’t love it but did very well. Right now she is a little head shy. She has a lot of scars, looks like she has had a pretty tough life. She is fine in the crate once she’s in it. She is eating/drinking well. She is getting along well with my other boxers though is nervous & does resource guard her food a bit. I’ve been feeding her in the crate but if any of my boxers get closer than she likes, she gives a low growl. She is a Velcro dog of course. Gypsy is great on leash so far and does stairs without a problem. She is an absolute love! Gives kisses and loves attention!

05/08/23-Gypsy is a gorgeous 5 year old female boxer saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they just got done breeding her. As you can see they definitely used her a lot for that! She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. Gypsy has had bath, food/water, gone outside and is resting quietly in her crate. She’s a doll!  Our vet said the red eye is because she has  entropion which is inward turning of the lower eyelid. It’s not infected but she will need that fixed when she is spayed. She has lots of scars and her breast tissue hangs like an apron, I’ve personally never seen it so bad. And no tail!!  We are working on getting her surgeries done as soon as we can. Once those are done Gypsy will be ready to go home!
