7/25/21 It’s been 2 weeks since Fabulous Fern arrived and she is doing great! When she left the mill she definitely left all her baggage behind. Fern is simply a happy little Bulldog! She’s all healed from her spay and umbilical hernia repair. Her skin/coat is looking substantially better but that is going to take some time. She finished her antibiotics so now it’s just good quality food and medicated bathes. Her coat was dull and dusty looking and today I just realized it is now shiny! It was also bath day so I’m sure that helped a bit too.
Fern loves everyone she meets, gets along well with the other dogs and has learned to share her toys nicely. She happily soaks up every bit of attention she is given and frequently comes over and flops down in the hopes she gets a belly rub.
Housebreaking is a work in progress, we are seeing much improvement. She hasn’t had any pee accidents lately but has had an occasional #2…. She is always kind enough to go on the hard floor and not the area rugs though! Her crate is always clean/dry. She’s very close to being housebroken, I think her antibiotics messing with her belly were the cause of most accidents.
Fern is really such a fun, happy dog to have around. She will do well in most homes… assuming you have air conditioning as Bulldogs have little tolerance for heat humidity. While she would love another dog to play with I don’t think she has to have one to be happy. Fern is all set and ready to move on to her forever home!

7/12/21-The fabulous Fern arrived at her foster home on Friday. She was retired from breeding at a Puppy Mill and made her way into rescue thanks a to great rescue group and vet partner we work with.

Fern has personality plus! This girl just wants any bit of attention, love and petting you have to give. She is the most social dog I have ever fostered from a mill. She loves everyone she has met. She is also the first mill Bulldog to happily walk on a leash right off her transport. Most have never been on a leash/collar and are so afraid they need to be carried.

Fern is spay and up to date. She had a dental done and 5 teeth extracted, an umbilical hernia repair and is receiving treatment for skin and ear infections (very common with bulldogs in general even more common with mill bulldogs). She will be feeling great in no time at all!

Fern is an easy going girl who loves life. She is an absolute joy to have around, she has such a zest for life. More updates soon as we get to know her better.
