6/02/23-Buttercup was spayed yesterday & the surgery went well. They did find and remove a mass by her mammary gland. It is most likely a cystic mammary lump common with the mill mommas that have been overbred like her. She will just need to get her stitches out at a vet in 14 days. She is lethargic so far today but did go out for potty.  She didn’t eat much but did take her pill with some peanut butter. Unfortunately we don’t have a way to cat test Buttercup, however most puppy mill dogs are good with cats as they often have a lot of barn cats. Buttercup also doesn’t have a high prey drive so my opinion is she will be fine with dog savvy cats. After a couple of more days of recovery Buttercup can go to her new home!

5/31/23-Buttercup is an absolute baby doll who loves everyone, dogs and humans alike.  Her wiggle butt is comparable to the energizer bunny.  It never stops!  She will give you endless kisses also. She has not learned the stairs yet.  She will go up but can’t come back down yet.  She will be going in for her spay appointment tomorrow and I will update her weight then.  She is a very petite girl.

5/26/23-Buttercup is a gorgeous 5 year old female boxer that was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as she just got too old to breed. We were suppose to get her in last October after she was done nursing puppies but we never heard back. We are pretty sure they bred her one last time after that as she looks like she recently finished nursing puppies again! We were told this mill does at least socialize their dogs & all are always so friendly. At the mill her stub tail was just wagging & she gave lots of kisses to the transport pickup team. She arrived safely into rescue thanks to her transport & hold volunteers. Her overnight hold volunteer said Buttercup slept great with him in his spare room and loved the fenced in green grass back yard!  Everyone along the way has said how sweet Buttercup is.  She is being spayed this Thursday 6/1 & will be ready to go home soon after. Updates soon from her foster home.
