6/13/23-Poyer continues to do well with potty training. We take him outside every hour so that he doesn’t forget that is where he is supposed to go. He wakes me up in the middle of the night to go outside but goes back into his crate and falls back to sleep. We are still working on not chasing the cat. He’s inquisitive and wants to know what that thing is. Poyer loves to be pet and wants all of our attention, because of this he hasn’t been wanting to share us with the other dogs in the house. We have been redirecting the negative interaction with time outs in a separate room. Poyer is showing his little personality and is quite nippy with me (teething), normal puppy behavior. I’m redirecting with toys and removing myself from the room. He is a sweet puppy but for this reason & because of his jealousy with attention we don’t think he would be good to go to a home with little kids. He missed out on a lot at the mill & is learning how to be a proper puppy. 

6/11/23-Poyer has been with us for a little over a day now  and is settling in nicely. He loves our female boxer and follows her everywhere. He has only had 1 accident so far in the house. He loves to run and play outside and roll in the grass. He’s a little guy but already has mastered jumping on the furniture and jumping onto the bed. He settled down fairly quickly in his crate last night and only woke up once to go out for a potty break. We are working on cat training. He likes to chase and has gotten smacked a few times so i’m sure he will learn quickly.  More updates to come. 

06/09/23-Poyer is an adorable almost 5 month old Mini aussiedoodle. He was saved from being killed by a puppy mill along with his brother Samwise as they just got too old for them to sell. They arrived safely into rescue late tonight thanks to their transport & overnight volunteers. They are half Australian Shepherd & half mini aussiedoodle(mini poodle/mini Australian shepherd) so they are 3/4 aussie. It appears Poyer got a little more mini poodle DNA than his brother as his hair is a little crazy!  We estimate he will be about 35 lbs full grown. More updates soon from his foster home!
