9/6/23-Myles continues to wait for his forever home. He has learned the routine of his foster family. He will get excited when it’s time to pick up the children from daycare as he knows it means he gets to go on a car ride. He is a wonderful co-pilot & loves car rides.  Myles has bonded extra with the woman of the house and is like glue. He goes where she goes. He makes a great companion if you work from home. He does not bark nor whine. He is a very easy-going coworker. He continues to dislike his crate & will bark when we are gone. For this reason, he would not be a good apartment/condo type dog. Myles loves walks & he will bark or wine at anyone walking by to get them to come pet him! Due to his size he looks intimidating but he’s just a big mush.  He would make a great jogging or walking partner for someone & give the look of security too.  Myles has been more bold taking food from the kids’ hands or from their kiddy table to get treats but he does not beg at the dinner table. He doesn’t even eat the crumbs off the floor.  We are slowly training Myles. He is in the early process of learning some signs like stop, wait, no, potty and come.  This is a great boxer boy & everyone is missing out!

8/13/23-If you are looking for a dog that follows you around from room to room, Myles is the dog for you. With that said Myles hates being alone. He broke out of his crate multiple times and had to be upgraded to a heavy duty “lions crate”.  In there he does fine & goes in with a treat.  He walks well on a leash & gets excited to see other passing dogs while on his walks. He is a great companion in car rides and he will find a way to the front seat to be your co-pilot.  He enjoys all visitors however needs training in how to greet others at the door. He just doesn’t know his own strength & his boxer kidney bean dance and boxer jumping can knock one off their feet! Lol He had a dog sitter come watch him while we were away & they had no issues. He has also gone camping for the weekend with the family.

Here’s a testimony of how great Myles is from his foster home’s family member: “Myles is adorable. I spent two days at his foster home, and he was so easy to get along with. He was so gentle with the boys. He would let the 3-year-old use him as a pillow.  And he didn’t mind when the toddler tripped against him. He is playful and loves to play ball.”

Myles is a wonderful boy still waiting for his forever home!

7/17/23-Myles has been doing well but even though he can be around other dogs, we think he’s going to do better living in a dog free home.  He got toy/food possessive over a bone with our other female dog.  He growled at her but that was it, we took it away after that.  With people & kids though Myles is all butt wiggles and climbing in our laps to snuggle. He’s such a gentle boy that will thrive with a family to spoil him.

7/12/23-Myles did great with his neuter & weighs 71 lbs.  His foster home went away for the week on vacation so he moved to a temporary foster spot.  He is doing much better in the crate here after a day.  He also started to box with me & he’s a little bit of a talker when he plays!  He’s got such a low deep voice it can be intimidating if not use to boxer talk & since he’s a big boy, but it’s all play. We have noticed Myles seems to be unsure about what to do around other dogs. No hair raising or growling but no wagging his tail either.  He gets jealous for attention when we pet one of our other dogs & he pushes himself between us and our dogs. We will continue to see if he gets more comfortable around other dogs, otherwise he may be the rare deaf dog that needs to be an only dog in his new home.

7/07/23-Greetings from my new foster home. I am currently living with my foster parents and 2 foster human brothers; 3 year old and 16 month old boys. My foster parents treat me well, they have taken me on walks and allowed me to play with other dogs. I like to stop and stare at the bunnies on my walks, however sometimes I need a gentle pull to break attention. I enjoy a brisk walk with my easy walk harness which does not allow me to pull or take the lead. I haven’t gone on many walks as it’s been too hot. Did you know dogs with short snots are sensitive to the heat and cold, you need to be careful with us.  I enjoy saying hi to other dogs on leash, sometimes people get shared of my size and my boxer attitude, but I am friendly to other dogs.  When my foster parents feed me, they laugh as if it’s a magic show as the food disappears in seconds. Enough about my parents, let me talk to you about my foster brothers. I love my brothers more than my foster parents. When they wake up I do my kidney bean dance and I jump on them and kiss all over.  My parents  will pull me off of them but I resist and continue to show my love and affection. I like to carry their toys in my mouth, however I do not destroy them, I just like to show them I am ready to play. I don’t like when my pack leaves the house, they put me in a crate and I bark and cry. I have anxiety as it shows as my crate is bent. I am fully house trained. I might need some more help with reducing my kissing, jumping, going on the couch unwelcomed and responding to commands.  I hope one day I can transition into my forever home to continue to learn. I’m being neutered on Monday 7/10 & will be ready to go home after that!

7/01/23-Myles had his neuter & shot appointment moved to Monday 7/10. He is also moving to a different foster home as he’s too big & strong for his current foster home. Updates soon from his new foster home!

6/29/23-Hi my name is Myles I’m only 2 years old and I’m a big mush!  I love my people and love being with you I will lay by your feet or cuddle up next to you. I love belly rubs and if you stop I will lift up my paw to ask for more.  I’m a great traveler in the car! I will sit in the seat like a human. I love going for walks.. great on a leash but I’m curious of squirrels and rabbits. I would love a home with I nice big yard I can play in.  I’m playful but can also sit calmly by your side. I used to go to work with my last owner so I’m used to traveling and being in different places..I’m very smart. I may be deaf but my eyes and attention are always on you because I really want to please you.
I’m looking for my best friend if you think your it …please fill out an adoption application.
A deaf dogs other senses become so heightened, Smell, sight, and the feel of any vibration you will be amazed at how well they communicate and how strong they bond with you! Myles has his vet appointment on Thursday 7/6 & neuter on Friday 7/14. He will be ready to go home soon!

6/27/23-Myles & his sibling Maisy are 2 year old deaf owner surrenders that came into rescue today thanks to their transport volunteers. They were living alone in a small garage the past 3 months as the owner couldn’t have them at an apartment.  He finally decided it was best to have them find new homes. They lived with kids 2 & 4 years old & were good with them.
