9/21/21 -Tika has been adapting well in her foster home. She knows “sit”, “come” and “kennel”! She is so good in her kennel during the day while her foster mom is at work for 8 hours!
Potty training is going good still but not perfect. I am pretty sure this is only because she is so worried about coming back in to chase the cat! So as long as her new home has no small critters she should be fine.
We have had a hard time finding her a vet to get her spayed but is finally scheduled for mid October! After a healing period she will be more than ready for her forever home!!!
Tika is a sweet girl that loves attention. She also likes hanging out in the middle of the floor of whatever room you may be busy in! She just wants to be near her humans but also is ok with being alone and has shown no signs of separation anxiety. She likes the company of her foster pit bull sister but has yet to engage in play with her. They do cuddle and chill on the couch together.

Kaya, who is also available for adoption, is Tika’s mom. These two came into rescue together after giving all the puppies they could to the puppy mill. Tika is waiting patiently for her forever home!

9/3/21-Tika has been in foster care for a couple weeks now and is beginning to settle in. She is such a good girl! Tika loves attention, scratches and has just begun to learn how lovely snuggles are! She is only 4 years old so she still has some of that puppy energy!
Potty training is going well as long as she is taken out regularly. Leash training has been a breeze! Tika is very smart and walks right along side with no pulling (unless a squirrel appears!).
Tika and her foster sister have been getting along good and she seems to like the company of another dog but could also live without one. No small animals for this girl though.
We are still getting to know this sweet girl as she gets used to life outside the mill so stay tuned for her updates!

8/16/21-Tika arrived on Friday. She is new to rescue as she was recently surrendered by a puppy mill after she was no longer of use to them. So far Tika is good with a brief 1st encounter with her foster boxer mix sister but not the cat of the house! She will chase! Tika is a beautiful girl and is very curious in her new surroundings. She does not seem afraid but more curious of all the new noises, especially the TV! She does the cutest head tilt and stares at the sounds and lights. She has no issues with going in her crate and has no accidents in her first 3 days here! Stay tuned for more info on this spunky gorgeous girl!
