8/8/23-Petunia is coming out of her shell and loving life!  She is embracing being outside of a crate, and she has learned how to use stairs (up AND down!!). She is eating well, loving small treats, enjoying cuddling with our dogs (especially our ex-puppy mill bulldog), and discovering which couch she prefers sleeping on.  🙂 She is working on housetraining, using her mouth without 11 teeth, learning what toys are, and showing us when she wants things.  She is such a tiny, fragile peanut and it is so wonderful to see her grow and learn.

8/05/04-Petunia has been settling in and learning how to be a dog.  She has been watching and learning from our pug and bulldog and she already loves them.  She is guarded around humans right now (rightfully so!); however, she warms up when given love and affection. She enjoys being outside and exploring her surroundings.  At this time everything is new so she is less comfortable inside; however, she finds safety in her comfy crate.  She is an angel, and she will bring such joy to her future family.  She loves my resident dogs and they are so happy she’s here!  Everything is going wonderfully, and we appreciate the opportunity to help Petunia on her road to freedom.  She will make her future family so happy.  We will update as we learn more.
08/04/23-Petunia is a cute as can be 5 year old female pug saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they just got done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport volunteers. We had her spayed earlier this week along with a & dental cleaning with 11 teeth extracted. Petunia has antibiotics & also medication for a yeast infection in her ears to help her get better.
