MEET MAEVE

 

9/19/23-Day 4 already. Maeve continues to do good. Still sleeping through the night in her crate. Although we have learned she doesn’t like the dark and prefers some background noise.  Last night it was Say Yes to the Dress. Because what else would a pretty girl like her watch? LOL  She is using the bathroom outside making potty training a breeze. Still not a single accident on the floor. We are working on walking on leash; which she does well but tends to criss cross.  We’ll get there.  She likes to prance around outdoors like she’s at Westminster.  She likes to snuggle on the couch. But what she really likes is to steal shoes, slippers and toys and scurry them away into her crate.  Doesn’t chew them but squirrels them away like treasures.  Awww LOL and the little run she does while doing that…priceless.

  

9/17/23-Day 2. After a late arrival on Saturday and a bath and trim; Maeve had a great night.  Took her out before bed around 9:45 and she slept through the night and no accidents in her crate. Took her out around 7:15am and she peed and came back in.  She had breakfast and then we made our way to the barn for her first horse show. She got lots of love and pets at the barn.  She didn’t seem phased by all that was going on and curled up on her blanket with her toy and relaxed and napped.  She was a model citizen.  We stayed only a short time for her to make it home for a short walk with the dogs.  So far she seems to get along just fine with the dogs, cats, horses and adults and kids alike. She’s very sweet and has such a happy look on her face.  Potty training in process.  She has a healthy appetite and likes the car. Stay tuned for Day 3!

9/16/23-Maeve arrived to her foster home today.  We just got back from Tractor Supply where she got a bath and we tried to brush and cut some mats out.  She’s got SO much fur though that you can’t tell we cut some off.  She has some tight mats on her legs that are too close to the skin for my comfort.  I’m going to see if our groomer can squeeze her in just to help me with that.  She is the sweetest little thing.  Totally tolerating my dogs and while my cat is on guard she doesn’t seem to even notice him.. so far.  LOL She is being spayed next Thursday 9/21 & will be ready to go home soon after.
