10/3/23-Kelly was spayed yesterday & all went well. She is resting now.  Kelly is beginning to open up. She has met some new people. While she backs up she does sniff and if they approach her slowly she’ll let them pet her. At this point she wants to be near me and will follow me through the house. When I have her outside and bring her in I am getting nub wiggles. On leash she can be ok but will pull when uncomfortable. She does not bark to go out so there have been a few accidents but they are close to the door so she is trying. Kelly will need a patient home to let her build confidence.

9/28/23-Kelly had a great evening last night. I took her to Tractor Supply for a bath. She was nervous but she let me get her nice and clean. I even used the dryer. Her coat is very shiny now that the dry skin is gone!

9/27/23-Kelly is doing well. She is still very shy but slowly coming around more. She is doing well with her new food. She doesn’t mind riding in the car and truly enjoyed her ice cream treat on our last ride. Kelly does well with my dog & good in her crate. Slowly she is finding her voice with a bit of whining on occasion. Her spay appointment is next Monday 10/2 & she will be ready to ho home after that. More to come as this sweetie adjusts to being a family pup.

9/18/23-Kelly arrived at her foster on Sunday. Right now she is very timid but slowly approaching her foster mom. Kelly is eating well and drinking plenty of water. She is very quiet, today she spent her day curled up on a nice dog bed. Kelly is very sweet. I am sure with time she will start to come out of her shell. She has some skin issues, per the vet is probably a healing hot spot, we also often we see it due to poor diet.  Kelly is very skittish so trying to figure out how to bathe her without freaking her out. I may try doing a sponge bath gently rubbing her to get her used to the feeling. I’m sure she will feel better after a bath too. She is being spayed on Mon 10/2 & should be ready to go home after that. More to come as I get to know her.

09/15/23-Kelly is a very pretty 5 year old female brindle boxer. She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. More updates soon from her foster home.
