11/11/23-Jackson has gathered his toys to put in his crate while I am going out to run a few errands. There might be more but he has so many blankets pushed up to the front of his crate…….LOL  He is mostly laid back and outside of his crate during daytime when I am home. He rarely barks, except when I’m outside and he’s inside or hears garage door open/close. With kids he is timid but will sniff them and let them pet him. No aggressive just he is not one to gravitate to kids yet. For this reason he would better with kids 10 or over.  He is very smart & already learned following words: crate, come, wait, outside; still working on ‘Sit’.  He is good on the leash but may pull if you are not walking to HIS pace as there are too many things to explore! He is house trained & crate trained too. This sweet & fun toy loving boy is getting neutered this week so ready to find his new home!

11/5/23-So I had purchased a new bed for Jackson. I put it in the car for him to sit in the front seat and brought it in after we came back from our errands. While I was in the bathroom, he dragged it into his crate. Man, That boy is fast…… Can’t turn my back on him for a minute. I do love his antics though! Later that night it appears that Jackson doesn’t want to go outside for a walk tonight. I think I have a teenager (see face hiding in dog bed with one eye peeking pix)! LOL

11/1/23-Jackson is definitely getting more comfortable and is very curious when watching ‘petcollective’ especially when there are pet sounds!

10/31/23-Jackson had his pre-neuter appointment today & all went well. Due to vet backups his neuter is not until Tuesday 11/14 but he will be ready to go home after that. Jackson sometimes gets the zoomies in the morning, nice to be free from the mill life! He often enjoys hanging out in his open crate. He is very cute & will try to get all his favorite chew toys in his crate with him. Don’t miss out on this little sweetie!

10/27/23-Jackson is doing great & loves his various chew toys. We are working hard on some commands. He is most comfortable eating inside his crate right now. He is definitely anxious, but not aggressive, around male humans.  I took Jackson to meet my grandchildren who are age 12 and almost 10 to see how he would react. They approached him and kneeled down with her backs to him and he did give them a good sniffing but wasn’t comfortable with my grandson and did much better with my granddaughter.  I hope the weekend cooperates and we get a little chance to be outside some more. His pre-neuter appointment is finally next week so we should be able to get his neuter scheduled asap after. More updates soon!

10/15/23-Jackson slept for 4 hours in his crate without any issues. He is definitely feeling his oats today as he’s bouncing around like he wants to play. However, he’s not too fond of the wind but is more curious about the outside which is good. He does not pull when on the Martindale slip leash but I know he wants to go faster. In fact, he even tried to play with a couple toys this morning!  Mr Jackson may have worn himself out. I kept a few dog toys from my previous Shih tzus & put a few out to see if he would play. This afternoon it sounded like he was bungee jumping. There’s a small rope toy that he was thrown up in the air and trying to catch it. Unfortunately I only heard it as it was on the other side of the wall from the kitchen. He is definitely settling in. I got to give him a good brushing tonight.

10/12/23-Jackson is a stunning 2 1/2 year old male old mini aussie (miniature Australian Shepherd) rescued from a puppy mill along with Millie Jean. They arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to their transport & overnight volunteers. Tuesday 10/31 is Jackson’s pre-neuter check-up & his neuter will be scheduled for asap after that. Once he is neutered this beauty will be ready to go home!
