10/29/23-So very many changes with Marmie this week, she is absolutely coming out of her shell. She found her voice, yes she barks, but, it is a quiet little bark, that would not annoy neighbors, in either apartment or condo living.  She has continued to prove she’s a sweet girl who really wants human interaction and attention.  When she first sees me in the morning,  she’s bouncy and happy in her greeting. She readily goes in her crate when told “cookie time”. She runs right to her crate and pops right in. Once in the crate she’s quiet and settles right down to nap.
Although Marmie is great with the other dogs in my home, I don’t think she needs to live with another dog, she’s happiest with human attention. She’ll play with my Boston, but cautiously, and very short intervals with the 6 month old boxer puppies.
Marmie is really a perfect companion dog that you’ll be able to cuddle with at home, as well as take visiting, anywhere, any time.
Check back soon, as she’s a sweet beauty.

10/24/23-Marmie arrived into rescue thanks to an awesome network of transport volunteers.  She’s a little shy, but definitely wants to be where her person or people are.  She’s quiet, and gentle and so undemanding that she’s a refreshing little dog to have around.  She loves to be petted, although sitting on my lap is not anything like she’s used too, she’s much more comfortable sitting next to me in the chair.  I suspect this will change as she becomes more comfortable with being in a home type atmosphere.  She really does remarkably well on a leash walking, however she does tend to dart around a little and just needs to have a steady routine of walking to become comfortable with the whole concept of walking on a leash.

This little girl was spayed yesterday, and came home today, and seems totally un phased by it all.  What I’ve also noticed, that although she’s not afraid or nervous around my dogs, she doesn’t seem to care if they are there or not. She would be ok as an only dog or with another dog.  She’s rather be with me, and will seek me out, but not them.  She seems most comfortable around my Boston Terrier than the 2 boxer puppies, and really doesn’t care to be boxed by them. Can’t blame her, as she’s a quarter their size at only 19 lbs.
Marmie has a good appetite and is eating and drinking well, and I don’t see that changing. Potty training will be a work in progress, but she’s comfortable going up and down my deck stairs, so she’ll do well with potty training. Please check back in soon, to see how Marmie is doing, and if she’s the perfect dog for you.

10/19/23-Marmie is very sweet & tiny 4 year old female old mini aussie (miniature Australian Shepherd) that came in from a puppy mill. She arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. Monday 10/23 is her spay & once we get to know Marmie a little bit more she will be ready to go home. More updates soon on this cutie from her foster home!
