11/1/23-Cash is doing great getting to know the routine of the house.  He’s discovered the soft squeaky toys and spent about 20 min taking them all out of the bin and squeaking them. LOL. He unfortunately didn’t put them back himself.  He also has discovered a ball and playing fetch was pretty fun.  He’s eating dry food now in a dog bowl and goes out with the two other resident dogs to go potty. And he LOVES pizza ….don’t we all.  LOL He still needs some confidence building.  He will start to get up on the couch to join the other dogs but then stop. If he’s playing with the other dogs and we make eye contact, he will stop playing and come over for attention and love. He loves the big comfy dog bed  in the living room. I also left him out free while I left the house for ten minutes and he did great. I’m thinking that once he’s settled, he might not need to be crated. He will be seeing the MD tomorrow for a follow up on his spay/lump removals.  All incision sites look perfect though.

10/29/23-We’ve had Cash for a day now and we’re learning his quirks and best qualities. He’s a definite love bug and gives us tiny kisses to tell us thank you for rescuing him from the puppy mills.  Typical for a puppy mill dog, he’s learning affection, stairs, electronics, dog toys etc.  He has learned the stairs but still seems to occasionally be nervous about them.  He loves to be loved on.  Getting along splendidly with the whole family including my husband and two boys and a resident male and female dog.  He plays with them and is just starting to play with bones.  He watches TV on occasion as well. He walks very well on a leash in our backyard. We haven’t walked him on the street yet.   Puppy mill dogs aren’t exposed to dog bowls, so we had to start his meals with a plate and now he’s using a pasta bowl. LOL.  Next will be an actual dog bowl.  He’s also seems to be house trained as he’s only gone outside and no accidents in the house.   He also has been recently neutered and had a few lumps removed from his body.  All areas are healing nicely and stitches will be removed by the end of the week.  We were excited when he started to use the comfy dog bed today.  Cash is crate traine & House trained too. He is an absolute doll & such a sweet boy. He’s great with my 9 and 15 year old children too. Very gentle in nature.

10/28/23-Cash has arrived at his foster home and was eager to play with the two dogs here.  We will update again as we get to know him.  He’s very handsome though.

10/27/23-Cash is a very sweet 5 year old male lightly brindled boxer. He was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they were just done breeding him. He arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to his transport & overnight volunteers. More updates soon from his foster home.
