12/21/23-Pippi is doing great but is still very skittish around people she doesn’t know. She did the cutest thing the other day & covered my nephew with his blankets while he was fast asleep. She however was not comfortable to be around him while he was awake (no aggression just shy). She will definitely warm up to whomever she’s with after some time but she’s a little nervous to start. Pippi is being spayed next Wednesday 12/27 so will be ready to go home for the New Year!

12/15/23-Pippi went to the vet for an x-ray today (not another ultrasound) to see her puppy. Sadly they did not find a puppy anymore. They said she could have had a miscarriage or her body absorbed the puppy (it would have been very small due to her small size). So now we are trying to locate a vet that can spay her asap. Once she is spayed she will be ready to go home.

12/8/23-Pippi continues to settle into the daily routine of the house. She has become even more snuggly which I didn’t think was possible! She loves a warm spot on the couch next to her humans. She has become much more playful with my dogs. They like to play chase around the house and leap over anything that gets in their way. She is doing great with learning her recall. She is very smart and has figured out when she is going to be put in her crate….then quickly runs the opposite direction lol. However, when her crate door is open she will go in on her own and lay down. We are still working on eliminating having some accidents in the house. Her little pregnant belly is feeling a tad bigger but it’s still as soft as ever. She will have an ultrasound on 12/15 to see her baby. Then probably deliver it the week after that!

11/22/23-Pippi had an ultrasound today to better check on her pregnancy.  They had trouble finding the puppy at first as it is already located near the birth canal.  She will have an Xray on 15th to determine the puppy size and presentation.  If it is too large then or not facing the right way she may need a c-section to give birth safely.   Either way Pippi should have the puppy 1 or 2 days before Christmas!

11/14/23-Pippi is now on medical hold for several months & we are no longer taking applications for her at this time.  She went to be spayed yesterday & vet found she was pretty far along with only 1 baby (may be a mini aussie or mini aussiedoodle).  We also are not accepting applications on her baby until it is born & determined to be healthy & at least several weeks old.  Pippi may be moved in about 2 weeks to another foster home to give birth & raise her baby.  Continue to watch for updates on Pippi & her puppy.

11/11/23-Pippi really is a sweet girl! She has definitely settled in to her surroundings. She is getting playful with my other dogs. She has been having some accidents in the house but we are working on the potty training. She does well in her crate. On occasion she will tell you that she would rather be at your side rather than crated but she does settle down quickly. She is getting used to walking on a leash. She is very smart and eager to please for treats! Training should be quite easy. She has shown no interest in her foster brother rabbit so I can’t imagine she would mind having a cat around. She is going to make such a great little doggie family member! We love her & so will you!

11/6/23-PIPPI HAD HER PRE-SPAY APPOINTMENT TODAY. SHE IS SCHEDULED FOR HER SPAY NEXT MONDAY 11/13 & SHOULD BE READY TO GO HOME AFTER THAT. MORE UPDATES SOON FROM HER FOSTER HOME.

11/5/23-Pippi that arrived here to her foster home yesterday is doing great! She is still timid but is slowly coming around.  She started eating today, gets along well with my pups and is completely house trained. She is quite a snuggler too. She’s great!  She heads to the vet for her pre-op appointment tomorrow.

11/3/23-Our temporary guest rescues (Pippi & Fiona the bichon) are doing great! Both girls got baths last night once we arrived home with them. They also ate last night and gobbled their breakfast down this morning.  I feed them a pate can of Simply Nourish turkey yesterday night and chicken and liver this morning – they loved it! LOL
Gracie (our mini Goldendoodle we adopted from SCBR in May) loves them and they all are getting along very well.  Their favorite thing to do is go outside and play.
They are both just wonderful dogs!!  Pippi is very timid right now and doesn’t like quick movements but is already warming up to us by licking our fingers and approaching us slowly.  She is gorgeous with one bright blue eye and one brown one. She is so cute outside as she herds little Bichon to protect her from blowing leaves!  We also have 2 mini Aussies here that my daughter has and our little rescue is a mirror image in character of our Samantha.  Curious, herder and loves to run. They travel to their foster homes tomorrow so watch for more updates soon!

11/02/23-Pippi is gorgeous & very sweet 18 month old female mini aussie (miniature Australian Shepherd) that came in from a puppy mill. She arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. Monday 11/6 is her pre-spay appointment & then hopefully can get her spay date asap. Once she is spayed she will be ready to go home. More updates soon on this cutie from her foster home!
