12/20/23-Noel is doing very well & is now ready to go home!  I don’t have a way to test her with cats but I’ve seen no indication of a prey drive in her. Also we have heard most of the puppy mills have barn cats so most of the dogs coming in are usually good with cats. I don’t think dog savvy cats will be a problem with Noel.  She has not reacted to squirrels in the yard either. This wonderful bernedoodle girl is wanting to join you for New Years!

12/19/23-Noel is doing great & now ready to go home! She was spayed on 12/14. This slowed her down a bit for a few days. She wants to be close to her person. She will lay on a bed next to me as I work from home or just watching TV. If I move she frequently follows me to not miss anything. She is getting use to the sounds of the house and things going on outside. She is good in her crate & goes in with a little help. She has occasional accidents but normally goes to the door or does circles indicating she needs to go out. Noel has met my friends & does great with both men and women. She doesn’t jump on anyone. I have not had a chance to test her with children but with her sweet temperament I feel she will do well. She has begun to play with toys now too. All Noel wants for Christmas is a furever home. Don’t miss out on this wonderful loving girl!

12/9/23-Noel is one goofy girl! She wants to be with her people and lets you know it by whining that turns into a song. I have tried leash walking – she is very strong and wants to jet away. Yesterday she went into her crate on her own a couple times. However, when it was time to go to bed I had to help her into the crate. When she comes out of her crate she is a tornado! LOL She goes around in circles and whips that long tail – watch out it hurts. Noel is a very active girl who could use a family that will help her burn that energy off. She clearly wants to play with my dog but my girl is an old lady and not interested. She has started to notice toys and will occasionally sit and chew on one. Noel is doing good in the house with only a couple potty accidents. We did an outing to Tractor Supply to pick up food. I had to lift her into the car but she got out on her own. Once in the store she was very nervous. Staff in the store were great. One in particular paid her a lot of attention and calmed her. Coming from a puppy mill everything is new to Noel.  It takes her some time to settle when out of the crate. She is a very sweet girl who enjoys gentle pets. Noel’s spay appointment is this Thursday 12/14 then she will be ready for a great forever home!

12/5/23-Noel arrived here on Saturday.  She was a good rider on the transport but was hesitant to get out of the car and needed to be lifted. She is sweet and likes to be close. If she cannot see you she will whine and sing and eventually settle down. Noel will settle in her crate however you have to put her in it. I am sure over time she will get used to going in on her own. Today was her first day crated while I was at work. I spied on her a bit – she was laying quietly in the crate with her super long tail hanging out beyond the crate. Speaking of that tail – it is a whip when she is excited! I have experienced it firsthand across my legs. LOL With all the toys here to play with she likes the empty yogurt cup or a water bottle (remove the cap and little ring). Her spay appointment is next week, 12/14. After that she will be ready for her forever family!

12/3/23-Welcome Noel to SCBR! She is starting to relax. I get tail wags and she will come to me for attention. She is a sweetheart.

11/30/23-Noel is a very sweet about 18 month old Standard bernedoodle (standard poodle/bernese mountain dog). She was saved from being killed by a puppy mill as they just didn’t need her anymore. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport & overnight volunteers. She is shaved down from the mill so it is hard to tell what her coat will be like but her face looks more like the poodle side of her family. She is positive for lyme so is on an antibiotic for that. Noel is being spayed on Thursday 12/14 so she should be ready to go home for the holidays! More updates soon from her foster home.
