1/19/24-Flynn is doing great post neuter!  The incision looks great, and he hasn’t fussed with the area at all.  The puppy in him is coming out and he’s become very interested in chewing on things – like my sweatshirt, leash & blankies!  I’m taking this as a good sign that he is starting to relax here.  We give him a rubber toy and he is easily redirected to it.  When we sit on the couch at night, he likes to jump from my hubby to me but then he will settle for short snoozes.  He is showing more interest in my dogs and played for a couple of minutes with my boy.  He’s also found the dog beds and learned how to jump onto our bed so he’s warming up!  Since my last update, we have exposed him to the vacuum which he didn’t love so went to chill in his crate.  However, he is not scared of the blow dryer – go figure!  This boy has energy so would benefit from lots of mental & physical activity.  We haven’t walked him as we normally would due to the cold which he doesn’t seem to mind like foster parents do!  This boy will thrive in a home where he gets training & lots of attention, and where he won’t be left alone for long periods of time.  He would be fine as an only dog or with an older, confident dog to help teach him the ropes. He is ready to go home!

1/15/24- “Flynn” is an Irish nickname for someone with reddish hair.  And boy does he live up to his name!  This gorgeous boy has the most beautiful, deep red, wavy, and oh-so-soft hair!  He sat in the shower and let us bathe him on his first night here.  I didn’t want to traumatize him with a blow dryer, so he dried out by the fire, and then let me brush him. The pictures don’t do him justice – he’s quite majestic.  He’s been eating great for us and going outside like a big boy!  No marking or accidents in the house so far!  This doesn’t necessarily mean he’s housebroken, but we are being consistent & keeping him on a schedule for success!  He’s doing well overnite in his crate too – he will go in without too much effort and after a stern “NO” command, stops whining and remains quiet overnight.  The crate is next to our bed so in the morning, he watches & waits for us to wake up and BONUS:  bedding is always dry!!!  Flynn is fine around our 3 dogs but doesn’t know how to socialize or engage in play – ZERO aggression but he is very jumpy and doesn’t understand boundaries yet.  My 8 y/o boxer girl has been correcting him when his energy is too much and he’s smart, so is starting to figure it out.  My 3 y/o boxer boy desperately wants to play but is being patient as Flynn continues to settle.  In the meantime, Flynn found the toys and is content trying them out.  He is a huge lap dog and a little anxious so he prefers to lay on us & will wedge himself between our backs & the couch.  This boy will be neutered on Wednesday.

1/17 and ready to go home soon thereafter.  This boy is going to be a great dog with some training & patience!

1/13/24-1/13/24-After a long day of travel to his foster home, Flynn is settling in just fine tonite! He had a spa treatment, made new friends with my dogs and has a full happy belly! Lol he luvs to nuzzle and needs to be touching you!

01/11/24-Flynn is a handsome 7 month old male Golden Cavadoodle. This is a triple cross of Golden Retriever, Cavalier King Charles spaniel & miniature poodle. When done you get what looks like a miniature golden retriever! He was saved from a puppy mill along with his sister Lady as they just got too old for them to sell. He arrived safely into our rescue tonight thanks to his transport & temporary foster volunteers. Flynn has more of golden retriever coat so not probably best for those looking for a very allergy friendly dog. He is being neutered next Wednesday 1/17 & will be ready to go home soon after. More updates soon from his foster home.
