1/30/24-Lily has now been with me over three weeks. She seems to be making herself at home. I now find her sprawled on the sofa or in a chair. In true Boxer fashion she does not have boundaries, as you can see in the photos of her climbing on my granddaughter. LOL I continue to reinforce not jumping on me and others. She has also begun to play with a toy here and there. When offered a treat she is very polite as she gently takes the treat. Lily follows my dog around trying to initiate play however my girl has no interest. I am sure she would do well with another dog in her forever home. Lily is equally comfortable with both men and women not showing a preference as long as she is getting attention.

1/22/24-Lily is doing great.  Last night she laid on my lap before bedtime. Awww!

1/20/24-Lily is doing phenomenal for only a week here. Her potty training is going well. She is comfortable in her crate, and goes in willingly. She is eating and drinking well.I have been working with her on not jumping up on me – she is making good progress. Lily is affectionate and seems to like the people she has met. Last night she figured out how to get in my chair with me and snuggled. She has begun to play with toys, at the moment she is chewing on a nubby toy. When I give her treats with her medicine she is gentle. She doesn’t like her ear drops but we just finished those. I am treating her eyes. It requires me holding her head – not a favorite thing for her. Overall, Lily is a wonderful girl who is settling into home life like a pro. It will be awhile before we are looking to match her to her new home as due to vet backups she is not being spayed until 2/8.

1/16/24-Lily is doing great. The vet said she has an eye infection. This is now being treated with Terramyican, an antibiotic ointment. With her ears, eyes & lyme all getting taken care of she should be feeling 100% better soon!

1/15/24-Lily is a petite girl with a beautiful coat of black/brown and white.  She was nervous at first but quickly warmed up once she had a chance to decompress. In true Boxer form she likes to be close to her person. Lily will lay next to my chair or may attempt to get on top of me in my recliner. If she gets in the living room she will stay there and you need to put a leash on her to get her to move. I am sure this behavior will change as she gains confidence. She prefers her food wet but once it is soft she eats at a reasonable pace. So far she is well behaved having only taken a slipper but leaving it without chewing on it. Lily will follow my dog outside and will come in when called. Lily appears to want to play when she comes in from being outside. She does have a slight interest in toys. I am sure in time that will increase. Overall, this is a sweet girl who will make a great addition to any family.

1/13/24-Lily arrived to her foster home this afternoon & is absolutely precious! She is resting at the moment. A little later Lily came out to living room on her own. I think she is comfortable.

1/12/24-Lily is my house guest for a couple days, very sweet girl, coming from a mill she is surprisingly trusting and loving wants cuddles and belly rubs and loves giving kisses. She is very small, but does not like the crate right now, is scared of it. She is really good, just wants to cuddle and sleep. Her pictures make her look bigger than she really is. She has been doing a lot of catch up on sleeping, no accidents in the house yet and loves to cuddle and sit on you with paws around your neck, she loves giving kisses (maybe too much lol) and enjoys belly rubs. Likes to do a few zoomies in the yard, when she lets her guard down. Loves watching tv too., I actually left her by herself today for an hour and she was perfect, slept while i was gone and she had free range of the house. Very good girl ! just brought over a toy . good sign ! Lily is very good with putting the drops in and cleaning her ears and I gave her antibiotic pills in a piece of cheese and she was fine.

1/11/24-Lily is a stunning 3 year old female reversed brindle(black) & white boxer. She was saved from a puppy mill as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight along with Freddie thanks to their transport & her temporary foster volunteers. She has ear infection & is positive for lyme disease so has medication for her ears & antibiotics for the lyme. She also has some type of infection in her eye which we are working on getting checked up on with our vet asap as she probably needs medication for that too. Her spay is on Thursday 2/8 & she will be ready to go home after that. More updates soon from her foster home.
