1/19/24-Dominic is doing well & he was neutered yesterday. He had been keeping 1 leg up at times so we had vet check it out. They manipulated it pre-op, he had no pain, then they really palpated thoroughly while he was anesthetized too. They saw nothing wrong & now he’s not lifting it anymore…..I think they fixed it! Just needed a little doggie chiropractor work! Lol Dominic has not gone potty in the house even once, but I do let them out every 2-4 hours. He is a very happy and excited boy with a sweet temperament. He loves massages and being petted. I was not able to get a grooming appointment anytime soon so after a couple baths & trims by me he is looking & smelling a lot better. He is still stinky though & after 2 weeks post neuter he can have another bath/grooming & he will need it. Lol He is not good on a leash yet & understands no commands. He is a flight risk & is a dog who must have a physical fenced in yard or fenced dog run. Dominic is a work in progress & needs someone willing to teach him but he will be so worth it. He is now ready to go home!
1/16/24-Dominic is doing well. I’ve cut about 20lbs of hair/fur off so far!! Just kidding, it may have just seemed like it! LOL This is what happens when a doddle goes without grooming. We were able to get his neuter for this Thursday 1/18. Dominic will be ready to go home not long after that, once we get to know him & his needs a little more.
1/14/24-A little fun in the sun while foster mom is away! Coco is VERY confused on why he will not chase her yet! Lol Poor boy’s coat is a mess from the mill. Working on slowly getting him groomed…2 hours of hair cutting = 10% accomplished!
01/11/24-Dominic is a big, sweet 15 month old Standard Bernedoodle (Standard Poodle/Bernese Mountain Dog) that was saved from puppy mill as they just didn’t need him anymore. He arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks his transport & temporary foster volunteers. We are working on getting him neutered asap & then he should be able to go home soon. More updates soon from his foster home.
