11/7/21-Rocky has truly displayed his puppy self this week. He’s a tall, sleek boy with big feet which means he has more growing ahead of him…yes he will be a big boxer boy for sure.  His white coat is almost as soft as bunny fur and you can see his black checker spots on his skin,  making him very unique and yes, very handsome.
Typical of a young boxer he has lots and lots of energy and because of his age is struggling with how to channel this energy.  But he’s very smart and with patience and persistence he is going to develop into one awesome boy.
He is playful with my Boston terrier and my bulldog girl, but he wants people more than anything, and because he’s young and has only been here a week,  he does get anxious if he doesn’t see me and very much wants to spend time with me.  This will change and improve, because he’s still a puppy his confidence needs building just like most puppies and people.
This week we have worked on some new signs, just because he’s deaf, doesn’t mean he’s dumb…..he is becoming more attentive to my hand signals and facial expressions every day.  You just have to remember he’s deaf and has puppy brain, but he’s smart and wants to learn and he’s going to be great in life.
So check back in a few days and find out how much more he’s learned.

10/31/21-Rocky arrived Saturday, a very handsome boy with typical bouncy,  happy energy, and being deaf, we are teaching him a very easy sign language.  He does understand NO, good boy,  and we are working on come and outside,  for starters.  He is starting to actually look at my hands which is awesome progress.
He loves meeting people on our walks and being a young bouncy boy is learning better behaviors when seeing other dogs walking.   That is definitely a work in progress,  as he wants to play, play and play. So check back soon as we learn more about this happy boy.

10/30/21-Rocky is a super sweet deaf 7 month old boxer boy that came into rescue today. He is an owner surrender as his family bought him as a baby & did not know he was deaf. They said they were giving him up to find another home with more deaf dog experience as they weren’t able to get him trained properly.

He lived with 1 & 3 year old male boxers & kids 9-13 & was great with all. His family also babysat kids infant to 4 years old & he loved them too but could be rough due to being a big bouncy boxer puppy. He is being neutered Monday so will be ready very soon for his new home.
