*since I am still a baby I need a home with someone home more often (ex: retired, work at home, etc)*

11/2/21-Braden, the cutest English Bulldog baby, did see my vet yesterday as well as a diagnostic cardiologist who did an echocardiogram also known as a cardiac ultrasound.  Here are the results, right ventricular enlargement and right concentric hypertrophy, right post stenotic dilation.   You’re vet can also translate this information.  But basically it is a congenital defect at birth & means that this cannot improve as Braden grows,  but more than likely progress as he grows and matures.  The other reality is he will need to be on beta blockers (currently ATENOLOL twice a day, for a month currently about $12) his whole life starting yesterday, so his heart doesn’t have to work so hard.  He will be prone to fainting episodes and possibly go into CHF (congestive heart failure). Sadly his life expectancy is very short. Our vet said could be 2 years, could more or could be less, no one knows. He will need another ECHO in 3 months time to see how it’s progressed & yearly retesting. Due to his heart condition he will not be able to be neutered so his new owner will need to be aware of this.
For now, until his new home comes along my job is to let him be a happy, playful puppy and give him his meds 2 times a day, and give him lots of love. He is now ready to go his special new home!

10/31/21-Baby Braden came into rescue from a puppy mill for professional medical evaluation for a grade 5 heart murmur and failure to thrive.  Sounds a little scary, but he is seeing my vet tomorrow for evaluation.

He is currently a happy bouncy puppy who loves food, toys and his very favorite,  lots of cuddles and hugs and snuggles.
Although he is normal in every way, he is on the small side for his age and breed and this could be part of the result of his heart murmur.

So please keep good hearts and thoughts as we move forward,  and check back soon to see how he is doing in his life adventures. He is not available yet for adoption until we find out more on his health & future medical  needs.
