4/11/24-Remy is such a sweet boy & loves to snuggle & sleep on you! He is moving to CT to a new foster home Saturday as he was having an issue of peeing on himself when he squats to pee outside. It was becoming too hard for his current foster home to clean him up every time he went out. The vet recheck we had after his neuter said it would get better when his hormones go down now that he was neutered & as he learns life outside the mill. It already has been less frequently happening & with a little behavioral training on positioning him as he goes it should help too. He never has accidents or issues in the house though. His new foster home will see how he does in an environment with other dogs in the home & a fenced yard to go out off leash every time. More updates soon.

4/5/24-Remy did great at the groomers today, he looks and smells like a different dog. I also took him over by my friend who has dogs and 3 cats and he was fine with all. Her mom has a little dog and she has two big ones and he did great with all of them, he even met her pet hedgehog and he never bothered it.  He  just smelled the cats and walked away. He played with the dogs. A really good boy!

3/31/24-From being so afraid to come out of the kitchen to belly rubs, paws and kisses, Remy has come a long way in such a short time. He’s learned sit and  lay down and  quickly learning to give paw. He is an amazingly smart boy. Today Remy was left alone for about three hours in the kitchen uncrated, just blocked with a baby gate from the rest of the house and did excellent. No accidents, no damage and relatively calm when I got home. He was happy to see me, but was not going crazy, took him outside and he just laid in the grass and soaked up the sun.  He is such a loving and loyal dog, Remy is the missing piece to your family’s puzzle & ready to go home!

3/27/34-Remy is settling into home life very well, the last few days has been a major improvement.  He is becoming more confident and less nervous. He actually barked when the door bell rang and did not run and hide like he did when he first got here. When he goes outside, he prances around the yard and will grab a toy and just lay in the grass. (we can’t play because of his stitches) When I took him to the vet today for a check in there was a dog barking and growling at him, and Remy had no reaction, he looked at him and turned away. He was a very good boy at the vet and welcomed all the petting he got by several strangers.  He no longer cowers when you go to pet him. He’s learning that all people are not bad. He is also learning to sit and give paw, he has caught on very quickly it’s amazing. He is easily redirected if he starts to do something that he shouldn’t. (tried to chew his leash) he understands NO, He walks very well on a leash , no pulling at all and waits for you to lead him. Remy has had no accidents in the house at all, and even woke me up the other night by licking my hand when he needed to go outside. I am amazed at the progress he has made in such a short time. Remy wants to please his people and give you his whole heart.

3/24/24-We are making progress slowly but surely. Remy is still very nervous with loud noises and certain movements, if I approach him when I have something in my hand like a cell phone, he takes off running.   He seems much more relaxed when outside, he will run up to me and want to play , bury himself in the snow and play with toys. In the house he acts much more reserved. He did start playing with toys and enjoyed some new treats. We watched some dog movies today that he really seem to enjoy. He’s a very sweet boy with lots of love to give.

3/22/24-Remy arrived safely yesterday into rescue & he is a very sweet boy. He did really well on the car ride home. Right now he prefers to sleep in the kitchen even though he has access to the whole house. He walks well on the leash but so far we have only gone short distances . Remy got a refreshing  bath today , he was scared but with reassurance that he was safe we were able to get through it. He liked being dried off more than the bath lol, Right after he fell asleep in the living room. Doing well going potty outside, no accidents in the house. I  take him out every few hours. He rolled around in the snow and started to run around a little, but he is still unsure of life outside the mill and how to be a dog. He is so good, forgot I have a dog in the house! Lol He is scheduled for his neutering on Monday 3/25 & he will be ready to go home after that. I will update more in the next few days as he starts to feel more comfortable.

03/21/24-Remy is a handsome 15 month old male red tri color Australian Shepherd that came from a breeder farm that no longer needed him. He arrived into rescue today thanks to his transport volunteers.
