4/2/24-Blossom truly lives up to her name. This week she has gone from a very shy, somewhat withdrawn girl, recovering from her spay, to a happy, wiggly, outgoing girl.  I can’t tell you how thrilled I am when I enter a room and she greets with a big wiggle butt with tail wagging and I can almost see that smile starting. She is just a doll in a fur body. She now lays around in the kitchen with me and my dogs, where as a week ago she was spending most of her time in my sunroom, every once in a while peaking around the corner to make sure I was where she last saw me.
She also now follows me from the kitchen to her crate when I have to leave the house, and knows she’s going to get cookies when she goes in her crate.  She also knows now that she’s only going to spend a couple hours in it, and it’s not permanent quarters.  She keeps her crate clean and dry and is quiet as a mouse.
Blossom is starting to respond to her name, but also loves being called “pretty girl” and it just amazes me how sweet she is.  She just wants to be loved, and love someone back.  She’s also good with my other foster puppy Isla, my boston terrier and my 11 month old boxer puppy, she is so tollerent of their playfulness and exhuberance, with her quiet manners. Blossom would be good as an only dog or with other dogs.
Walking on a leash is still a work in progress in progress, she’ll walk along with you, but if startled or something scares her, she will try to duck between your legs. she’s not trying to trip me, but it can be a bit of a challenge right now, but again has made so much progress that I can’t help but smile after our short walks.
So check back in soon, and watch this beautiful girl bloom in the sunshine. Blossom is ready to go home!

3/28/24-Blossom is such an awesome girl. She was spayed on Monday and returned to me on Tuesday,  and was very quiet and shy. Yet it was abundantly clear that she wanted to be with us, but just wasn’t sure how to go about that. She has just the sweetest disposition,  and now greets me with a wiggle butt

and nubby wag that just melts your heart.
Every day I spend with Blossom,  I see progress in her, working her way into life outside of her origin as a producer of puppies just for profit. She’s pretty relaxed for not being socialized like we know life. Blossom travels really well,  although stills needs assistance getting in the car,  she’s getting much better exiting.   While in the car,  she sprawls out on the backseat and relaxes for her trip. She is so easy and relaxed with my dogs,  and is especially gentle with the 13 week old foster puppy, while still sharing attention with 4 other dogs in my home.
Today I was so proud of her when she much preferred to lay down in the kitchen most of the time with all my dogs and myself, rather than being solitary in the sunroom off the kitchen. She also lit up & wiggled like crazy on Sunday when she came into rescue & saw the 8 year old daughter of one of our volunteers. This girl definitely grew up with & had great experiences with kids at her mill & would be a wonderful pal for a child. Like most mill dogs Blossom will need more work on leash walking & crate training is a work in progress. She has not had any accidents and with the sliding glass door open to the fenced yard she does potty down the stairs into the yard on her own. This beautiful girl has so much potential, and watching her bloom into life is worth every second I spend with her. Blossom is going to be a truly awesome companion for someone.  So please check back in soon,  and see how this sweet girl might grace your life.

03/21/24-Blossom is a gorgeous 5 year old female blue Merle Australian Shepherd that came from a breeder farm that no longer needed her. She arrived into rescue today thanks to her transport & temporary foster volunteers. She is being spayed on Monday 3/25 & will be ready to go home soon after.
