4/27/24-Daisy is doing wonderful! She much prefers to sleep in bed with me now versus being in her cage. If I don’t put her in bed with me she continually barks in her cage even if I leave the lights on. In my bed she sleeps all night. She is completely house broke. She goes in and out the doggy door and takes her toys outside to play. She loves to lay in the grass and play with her toys. She has half of toy box outside lol. Even though she has connected with me nicely she backs up when I reach to pet her and when I first approach her she backs away though she is getting a little better about that. She is very chill but on occasion she will now run around the room to get the other dogs to play with her. She will thrive in any home she goes to. She is not intimidated by other animals or large groups of people. She still is very apprehensive though when I try to leash her so will need work on leash training still. She came in shaved but the breeder left a big line of fur on her back so I blended it. Her hair is definitely growing back in but since some was shaved right down to her skin it looks funny still. She has healthy skin and hair & will be beautiful once it all grows in evenly. Daisy is being spayed Thursday & will be ready to go home after.
4/13/24-Daisy is getting more comfortable around us and our family that visits on occasion. She is a pro with the doggie door but we are still struggling with the leash. She has a harness and she will walk on it for about 5 steps then puts her brakes on. I put a Kong with peanut butter in her cage and she is in her happy place. She is now comfortably eating out of our hands and trusts us as we approach her. Daisy is soo extremely sweet, she nudges me when she wants me to pet her and if she is behind me she touches my leg with her nose. I’m not sure what it means but every day we learn more. She is so beautiful and calm, she will be a good addition to any home.
4/2/24-Daisy has been at her foster home for a few days. She is such a sweet heart! Daisy got attached to me very fast & follows me everywhere I go. We are working on getting her to walk on her leash, she is starting to show little signs of wanting to play with my other dogs. She is very passive and isn’t bothered by children at all. She’s actually so good with children of all ages. We had an Easter party with kids ages 2 ,4 ,7 ,9 ,13, 15 yrs old! I’m taking her out on her leash but she doesn’t seem to understand she’s outside to go potty, she’s more focused on the leash. She is very smart and quickly learned how to use the doggie door. I have it blocked off right now because the run is set up for little Shih tzus and she’s much bigger than them. We are going to add another foot on it so she can go outside freely and safely. This evening, we noticed that Daisy uses the doggy door to go potty!  We have a good size fenced dog run and she has taken full advantage of that today. Smart girl! Due to vet backups Daisy’s spay is not until Thursday May 2. Once she is spayed, she will be ready to go to her new home. We won’t be looking for her match for her new home until it is closer to her spay. She is wonderful and will make an amazing addition to someone’s loving family!

3/29/24-Daisy is sweet as pie at her temporary foster home!  Quite an appetite, drinks tons of water from the bowl, and gets along great with our dogs and cats.  She has a darker spot on her back where the hair wasn’t cut and it is so cute!  She also has very curly hair, more so than our doodles – Definitely got more poodle genes.  Can’t wait to see a few pictures of her from her foster once her hair grows in a bit more.
03/28/24-Daisy is a very sweet 4 year old female mini Goldendoodle (miniature poodle/Golden Retriever). She was saved from a puppy mill as they just got done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue tonight thanks to her transport & temporary foster volunteers. She is being treated for an ear infection. She was recently shaved (most likely due to severe matting) so after her hair grows back some she will be even more beautiful! We are working on getting a spay appointment asap. Once we get to know her a little better & she is spayed Daisy will be ready to go home.
