7/2/24-Griffin was neutered last week & is doing wonderful. He is your typical happy boxer with a great playful attitude who looks to please and be loved.  He has had no potty accidents the whole time we have had him.  He walks great on a leash & loves to go out in the backyard with his foster doggie brothers and sisters. The crate is not his favorite but will go to it when you tell him to (with a treat, of course lol) & sleeps overnight in his crate without any complaining.  He is a big, strong boy, so he will need someone with big dog experience.  He kind of bumps you as he is walking by just so he can touch you.  Kids should probably be older just because of his size. He would do great with a fenced in backyard and walks.  He has a lot of large Boxer energy. Lol He is a lover and would be a wonderful addition as a family member!

06/23/24-Griffin is a handsome about 2 year old male fawn & white boxer. He arrived to his foster home thanks to one of our volunteers. We were contacted by a nearby Animal Control Officer(ACO) about him. He was abandoned on the shelter property over 3 weeks ago with no info or microchip. They said he goes into his kennel willingly and is very food motivated. She also said he’s a very good boy and they want to see him go to a great home. The town pulled him from the bigger shelter because he wasn’t doing great in their kennel with lots of stimulation and being dumped. The ACO said he is in the pound with one other dog currently and is doing fantastic for over three weeks. There is a reactive German Shepherd in the pound and apparently when they walk Griffin by him, Griffin does not react in any way. She is also able to get him in a sit. Our volunteer that picked him up & said he is a typical young boxer boy. Bouncy and strong but her husband was walking him around as she was talking to the ACO and Griffin calmed and walked well on the leash. He is a very big boy at 89 lbs & even needs to gain a few pounds (we estimate he will about 95 lbs filled out). Luckily he is a gentle giant!  He is being neutered this Wednesday 6/26 & once we get to know him more he will be ready to go home. Updates from his foster home soon.
