8/21/24-Willow is absolutely amazing! She is doing well after her emergency surgery on Monday. She started to have black discharge on Sunday so she was rushed to the vet. They did xrays/bloodwork & sadly found that Willow had one large puppy inside her with no heartbeat or water around it in it’s sac. This is why a week after the 1st vet said she was pregnant the 2nd vet didn’t see the puppy on the ultrasound. The puppy must have passed in the week or was already gone when the first vet diagnosed her as pregnant. The vet did an emergency spay to save Willow’s life, she did great & is recovering fine.

Willow has been the kindest guest, very polite with all of the dogs and cats. She met my mom today and wasn’t nervous about being pet by a stranger, she’s gained a lot of confidence in the last week. She is doing well with house training & is great once she learns the routine. She loves a nice cozy place to nap and is always wagging her tail. She doesn’t know how to jump on furniture yet but definitely learned how to ask to be picked up to snuggle in bed! LOL She does well on the leash but is still very nervous when she sees the leash come out. She doesn’t want to leave her comfort zone yet.  She is very easy going and does seem to thrive with routine. Willow is now ready to go home!
8/15/24-After Willow went in for her spay we were told she was pregnant & due in few weeks so we didn’t spay her then. We had an ultrasound done today at a 2nd vet & found out she is not pregnant after all! No idea how this misdiagnosis happened at the other vet. Willow is now set for her spay Wednesday 9/4 & she will be ready to go home after.

8/8/24-Willow has a delay in her spay & we won’t have an update for several weeks on when she can be spayed.  In the meantime she is not available for adoption as she can’t go home until after she is spayed. Continue to watch her page for updates in a few weeks.

8/5/24-Willow arrived late on Saturday after a long transport. She met her 2 canine chihuahua brothers and there wasn’t much interest by any of them. She was very quiet for the night. She slept in her crate in my room. She went right to sleep and did not wake up until I did the next morning. Took her right out, stayed out for quite a while, but she decided to wait and have an accident in the house as she’s not sure about life in a house yet. She is doing well eating. Every day she seems to get more aware of things. She is going up the stairs now, and we are working on her learning to go down them. She went right out this morning and did all of her business and came in for breakfast. She has started wagging her tail, it seems like she is getting more comfortable. She stays in the dining room on the wood floor, I don’t think she likes the carpeting, probably never felt it before, but she can still see everything that is going on. I took her out several times today. She was taking 8 steps and then sitting down. Now she is keeping up with me when we walk. I don’t have to tug the leash anymore. She is really catching on to her role here. She is getting spayed this Thursday and will be ready for her forever home soon. She is a sweetheart.

08/02/24-Willow is a beautiful 5 year old female tri color Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She came in from a commercial breeder as they were just done breeding her. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport & temporary foster volunteers. She has an ear infection she is bringing treated for. Willow has her spay next Thursday 8/8 & will be ready to go home after that.
